For a weekend in Sydney this Hotel was affordable, in a good location, very quiet considering the location. The day staff were extremely helpful and assisted were possible. We didn't require parking or use the cook facilities however both are available.Thank you

Room Tip: request a water view, very nice. It could be a little small for children unless the family rooms are...

The Macleay Hotel and appartments was a great economical place to stay in Potts Point, Sydney. Even though away from the main tourist area, it is on the red bus line route that will take you to many of the main attractions. We bought a 7 day pass for $43.00 that allowed us to use the ferries, train and bus service. We only stayed four nights, but the pass was a bargain. If you like to walk, you can walk all the way to Circular Quay, going through the Botanical Gardens and check out the Opera House along the way. We did that the first day.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, I would certainly stay there again. There was a woolworths across the road that was great for groceries, and there were restaurants nearby.
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.

We have been staying here for over 3 years when in Sydney for business and pleaure and the service is still as good as our first visit. Rooms are small but well equiped for our needs. Parking on site is a real bonus and the location to every thing is good

We chose the MacLeay based on reviews, location, and price for a hotel with cooking facilities. Our first stay, 4 nights in March, had 3 adults. The room was small for 3 but had a view of the harbour bridge. The cooking facilities were very good. Our second stay was 6 nights in April and there was more space in the room (town view this time), but there was just a microwave (no convection oven) and the hotplate seemed smaller. There is a limited choice of channels on the TV. The rooms and washrooms were clean and the showers good. Rooms were ready early both times - there is luggage storage on site. Staff were friendly. Location is quiet and felt safe. It's several minutes walk to Darlinghurst, where the action is. The bus stopped nearby - it's a 10 minute walk to KIngs Cross Station and Coles, and 20 minutes to Elizabeth and the free bus. Taxis are always going up and down the steet - you should be able to get one in a few minutes. It's a long walk but we did go to Circular Quay. Woolworths and a small market store are across the road. In April the small pool was cool but I was able to do laps on the diagonal. There is a small book library and one computer in the lobby. We could walk to the Botanical Garden. There are lots of places to eat nearby if you don't cook.

Fantastic location for anyone looking to stay in the city but not right in the hustle and bustle. Beautifully appointed rooms with fantastic water views. Stayed here for a girls night out in the city and fantastic location and relatively spacious rooms. Close walk to Kings Cross Station and within walking distance of nightlife at Kings Cross. Reception is 24 hours which is fantastic and parking only $30 a night over the weekend. Staff were all very accommodating. Great for people who are looking for something a little more self contained as room had a kitchenette. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be close to the city.

The location of the Hotel was good. Just a 10 minute walk to Kings Kross Station. There are plenty of little shops along the Macleay road and Kings Kross for you to explore. Not to forget about the bars and an array of eateries along the Macleay road and also those affordable back packer hostels nearby. The bus stop to Circular Quay is just opposite. You can take bus 311 to get there if you prefer not to walk. There is even a couple of souvenir shops where you can get inexpensive souvenirs for your friends and family.

The staff were friendly and smiling and gave us a map showing different attractions and locations. The room was clean and we good a good view of the Harbor bridge even though we only paid for the district view! There was a kitchenette in the room which had basic utensils including a microwave oven and a toaster. You can make your own breakfast if you would like to. The is a convenience store woolworths just opposite where you can buy your groceries.

Tips : Taking a Taxi from the Airport to the Hotel costed us around AUD 65 even though it was a short distance! You can book for the Airport shuttle bus for just $12 per person! It was just as comfortable. But make sure that when you are using the Shuttle bus to go to the airport, leave a little earlier than you have planned because the shuttle bus picks up other passengers along the way.

Room Tip: Higher floors for a good view!
