Hotel is only a block away from Opera House and numerous restaurants on the harbour front, from there another 5 to 10 minute walk to Old Sydney Town or {The Rocks } as it is known. As we were in Sydney for the weekend we opted for a harbour view room, the view was just breathtaking. The room had all mod cons you can think of.
Top notch hotel with friendly and very helpful staff.

Room Tip: Harbour front room is absolute must....

This hotel is probably on low cost service. Definetly not a 5 star, as they don't know what a 5 star traveller's needs are. This goes from top of the pyramid to the bottom, except our check out agent, who probably has had solely a hospitality training in this premise. The rest of the front desk staff has a huge area of improvment.

Internet is charged. (except 30min per day in the lobby/bar)

When you go for breakfast do not expect any full fledge, they make you pay for everything extra (even if you have the full breakfast included)

Room Tip: Do NOT book Eastern Harbour view room, if you want to see Sydney Opera House. You will not see it.

Dear Explore Beyond

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any disappointment experienced during your stay with us.

As you have mentioned you had reserved an "Deluxe Eastern Harbour View room" these rooms are as the description, facing the east side of the harbour looking out to sea. I am sorry if you were disappointed by this. For a view of the Harbour Bridge / Opera House these rooms types with this room description need to be booked.

Also with regards to breakfast, with a package including breakfast it does include all offerings on the buffet. I am sorry I do not quite understand you comment.

I would be most appreciative if you wish to contact the hotel direct to enable us to follow up on your feedback.

Again our apologies and we do hope overall you had an enjoyable stay in Sydney.

With kind regards

My friends had their intimate wedding breakfast at the hotel in a private room at Cafe Opera and we decided to book a room and stay there. Right was when we parked the car downstairs the whole stay was fantastic. We arrived early and they were very pleasant on the reception desk, when we explained we were going to a wedding in the gardens across the road so they gave us the key to the room, as it would be ready when we got back. The room was fantastic. The wedding lunch was great and we ended up staying there for dinner as well, instead of opting for one of the many restaurants in the area. The buffet at Cafe Opera was sensational and we enjoyed a mixture of seafood and specially cooked food. We will definitely be back.

This is your hotel if you like warm personal service. Sure it costs more than others but Sydney is expensive no matter so you may as well hang out somewhere nice! The staff are excellent and very attentive without being intrusive. All requests were answered promptly and with a genuine desire to help. Beds are comfy and even though I only had "city view' it was still a great view. It is located close to the Quay - so there are trains, buses and ferries only 5 minutes away. Its easy to get onboard a ferry say to go to the attractions at Darling Harbour (such as the Maritime Museum) or to simply cruise the harbour on a ferry to Manly. There is an excellent Museum of Sydney just across the road. Shopping is great up at the Pitt street Mall but that is about a 10 -15 minute walk. It's an easy hotel to get to by taxi to and from the airport as it is just off the expressway - but save a few dollars by getting off in Macquarie street entrance rather than arriving in Phillip Street as they will have to go around the block. Concierge know everything about Sydney and they have a great buffet breakfast with egg chef! Looking forward to going back.

Room Tip: Book to have breakfast included if possible.

I couldnt fault the service in this hotel. When we first arrived we were incorrectly put into a twin room, which the staff quickly rectified. The service throughout was exception, the staff seem really happy to work there and this shows. The room was fantastic, possibly one of the most comfortable beds we have exerienced.

The breakfast is second to none and set against the heritage building the hotel lobby is a great place for a coffee or dessert.

The only very minor complaint was that the pool was cold and the spa is actually a series of jets down the side of the pool edge. However this would definiely not deter us from staying at the hotel again.
