“good location, friendly staff, great location”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

A group of five adults stayed at this hotel, it was clean, good service, room was big enough for all five of us. Staff were friendly, and helpful. The hotel is across the road from Museum Station, and a short stroll to Oxford St, and many shops.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 13th floor, had great views of Hyde Park. It has a balcony, no outside noise when d...

We stayed at the Hyde Park Inn on Elizabeth Street from February 4 - 6, 2013. We were in unit 153 on the 15th floor. It had been completely refurbished with a fantastic view overlooking Hyde Park and the harbour. It is close to public transportation and is just a short bus ride from the harbour front. The unit comes with a kitchenette which was really handy. There are grocery stores near by if you want to prepare some of your own meals. There are local pubs nearby also which you can get a reasonably priced meal. Breakfast is provided daily which was a bonus. Good accommodation at a reasonable rate close to all amenities - would recommend this hotel to friends and family with no hestitation!

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view!

We booked the hotel by mistake as we didnt notice we have a one day missing from our 4 day sydney stay so we booked for an overnight.  The room given to us was very spacious and clean with a good view of the park in front.  Fridge has mini breakfast items too, juice, bread, jam etc.  we were even planning to extend our stay because of that and cancel the other hotel booking but they were full.

That good vibes on the hotel turned too BAD upon checkout.  Since i'm on a business trip and have morning meetings, my girlfriend did the checkout on my behalf.  She was asked if there are extra services done i.e internet or phone call and she confirmed the internet only.  She was unaware that i did a phonecall in the evening to our next hotel.  She was surprised on how the receptionist made her look dumb and rudely said, 'actually theres a phonecall made' my gf was ok to settle the phonecall amount but before she was able to do so,( and  to make matters worse), the receptionist even childishly called the destination number to prove that my girlfriend was wrong and sarcastically confirmed on phone on the other line that i called the number to make my gf hear the conversation in an insulting way!!! It was such a very rude act for a 48 CENT phone charge! The receptionist should just confirmed on the phonecall made (or waived it off )as my girlfriend was willing to pay anything in excess without the receptionist appearing RUDE. Also even though she had two big luggages with her, she was not offered with calling the cab or even move our luggages  out of the way..

By the way the receptionist is an asian with silly dye in her hair making her look like less professional.

Excellent location, central & within walking distance to everything.
The room was clean & very modern, tasteful decor. There was a balcony & kitchenette area, restocked with breakfast goodies daily.
Reception staff very efficient and best of all this hotel has free allocated parking. Fantastic value in my opinion!

Room Tip: If you are a non smoker make sure you ask for a non smoking room. Alternatively they have smoking ro...

Stayed 2 nights in the Hyde Park in and was very happy and will definately stay there again. We caught the train from the airports domestic terminal to museum station which was almost opposite from the hotel. We walked to the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Darling Harbour, Botanic Gardens, Queen Victoria shopping bulding, the Aquarium and basicall everything in the CBD. We were also walking distance from Crown St in Surry Hill where I reccommend going to for tea (The Winery!)

The room was clean, spacious with a kitchenette and also at night time we could not hear any sleep distrupting noise from the bustling street below. The hotel were able to hold onto our luggae after check out and were very friendly. We had a continental breakfast as a part of the package which was basic but all we needed to start the day. the Hyde Park Cafe across the street in the park has great coffee and meals.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the Elizabeth Street below and had no noise from it.

Having stayed at the Hyde Park Inn over 10 years ago I had dismissed it in my recent travels to Sydney preferring other, seemingly more refreshed, hotels. On this occasion the reasonable advance pricing lured me back ... and what a surprise! Centrally located across from Hyde Park in central Sydney and the Museum Station (on the airport link railway) it was certainly convenient.
The rooms have obviously been recently renovated and, although a single traveller, I was provided with a room for three (queen and single) that had a small kitchenette stocked with a continental breakfast for two each morning.
Whilst nothing much can prevent sirens at night the hotel was relatively quiet.
The staff generally friendly.
Room service prompt and efficient.
Within easy walking distance of both the Town Hall Railway Station, and the Sydney free shuttle bus just around the corner, it turned out to be one of my more pleasant recent stays in Sydney (having stayed in at least 20 hotels in Sydney in past year).
Certainly waking up each morning with a vista of trees and parklands was pleasant on the eye.
Whilst not many night stops nearby its location midway between Oxford Street and the CBD / Chinatown and Darling Harbour makes it central and an oasis amongst the nightlife noise that many other Sydney hotels have you confront.
Definitely added to my top 10 list of hotels I check out every time I intend visiting (then based upon availability and price gouging).

Room Tip: Ask to be above fifth floor and whilst park side may be noisier view and balcony make up for it.

Only stayed here one night pre conference. The lobby looks inviting with floor to ceiling windows looking across to Hyde Park and the reception staff were smiling and friendly.

My room was on the 14th floor and upon entering you are greeted with views from the balcony and windows which face Hyde Park. Although the balcony is tiny the view overlooks the War Memorial, Woolloomooloo Bay and glimpses of the harbour beyond. Room is self contained with a small kitchenette, fully stocked cupboards with crockery/cutlery, microwave oven, toaster and electric jug. Everything you need to stay in or to prepare the continental breakfast provided which consists of juice, fruit snack, cereal, toast and condiments.

The room itself is large and comfortable with plenty of room and it's nice to see beds with lots of decorative, colour co-ordinated cushions in addition to the standard white pillows. The bathroom is small however has a "real" hairdryer as opposed to one attached to the wall and enough space on the vanity to place toiletries. Note that there is no soap as such, only hand wash (attached to the wall) and likewise, shampoo which does double duty as body wash in the shower.

Good location which to close to Oxford Street with its eclectic stores and Pitt Street Mall/Centrepoint shopping areas, Chinatown and King Street Wharf are also closeby and have every dining option. Good public transport and City Circle railway stations will take you all about and beyond if you don't want to walk.

I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have expansive views
