We stayed at the Ibis Darling Harbour for 1 night. We arrived in Sydney earlier than expected, and although check-in was at 2pm, we thought we would see if our room was ready. The staff at the counter were very polite and friendly. We were advised that our room was in fact ready and we were able to check in. We had booked and paid online so check-in was a breeze.
We had paid for a Harbour view superior room with queen bed. Room allocation was on the 5th floor. We entered the room, first impression was how tiny the room was. The harbour view was good, with a large window.
The room was looking very tired and very out of date with furnishings etc. The bathroom was ridiculously small, with mould on the shower walls in the grout, especially around the soap holder. Above the shower the paint was coming away from the ceiling. The door to the bathroom had dirty marks on it and paint coming off the bottom. There were rub marks and paint coming away from the door jamb.
There was only one bar of soap and one tube of shower gel.
The mattress was quite comfortable, but doona was wafer thin. There was no bedside table only tiny shelves with lamp on top. We were very disappointed with the room, the size was very oppressive and it definitely needs a revamp. It is close to everythibg and walking distance to many attractions and restaurants and cafes. Would not recommend and will not stay there again.
