Stayed with a friend in a room with 2 single beds on the 12th floor. The room is small but if you're out and about all day like we were, you don't need it any bigger. A stand alone shower in the bathroom is definately a bonus and the water pressure was nice. The room got a little hot on the first night but you have your own a/c unit so that was easily fixed. I am a light sleeper and I know we were in the middle of the city but the rooms did seem a bit noisy. not sure if the windows would benefit from some double glazing.
rooms a little tired looking, especially the bathroom but with the amount of people that must stay there every year, wear and tear is going to happen.

check in was easy, we arrived at midday and our room was ready which was great. Check out was also very quick. The staff are able to book the airport connect shuttle for you for $12 per person.

Tea and coffee was replaced in the morning. The location is fantastic! Across the road is the world square shopping complex with a coles so you can buy supplies.

The hotel has lockers for baggage at a cost of $7 for 24hours. Big enough for most suitcases but not all. Most hotels offer to hold bags for free so this could be something to improve on.

For the price we paid for the location and the amount of time we stayed in the rooms, can't complain!

We stayed for a week with the Golden Oldies and had a blast. The staff are so much fun and nothing was a problem. The rooms are that of a 3.5 star hotel but the location is fantastic, walking distance to China town, Darling Harbour and the free bus 555 on George Street FANTASTIC....

Hi Golden Oldie,

Yes, what a busy week you and your team had while in Sydney. Thank you for your feedback. We are located in the new hip part of Sydney, surrounded by new and exciting restaurants and Bars. I hope you and your team will return to Ibis World Square again soon.

Never again! Hotel was dreadful. Mould in shower. Blood stain on bathroom wall. Dirty sink. Old funiture in bedroom. Not at all pleasant or cheap for what you get.

Sadly, the other poor reviews are consistent with my experience.
Wotif regularly advertises rooms here for under $200 claiming the full rate is $479. That full rate and the Ibis website suggest this is a smart, modern hotel. But even the discounted rate seems steep. My room was poky and tired and the hotel corridors were shabby. Amazingly, the (very necessary) air conditioner could only be switched on by reception.
The reception area is also not what you expect - small and a bit too close to the footpath at the seedier end of Pitt Street.

Our rates start from $139.00 per night. I am sorry you were not able to get a better rate. May I suggest booking early for the best possible rate.
Pitt Street and Goulburn street is the most exciting part of the city, I am sorry you did not enjoy this end of town. It is the new hip and renovated part of Sydney.

We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Michelle Taylor

I was very pleased with the Ibis World Square Hotel. Its location is perfect. In the center of Sydney. Very easy walk to Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Chinatown and right near George Street which has many shops and restaurants/bars. The rooms are small, but comfortable and clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. Special thanks and great job to Carina who over-extended herself to help me with whatever I needed – directions and transportation to the airport. She is the definition of excellent customer service. The business center is great and provides high speed internet at $4 per 30 minutes which is a little pricey – but very convenient for quickly checking email. The breakfast room is small but offers a nice greeting from the host every morning and well rounded breakfast choices. Overall, a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks World Square!

This hotel is value for money (we booked online on special) and excellent for location, right in the heart of the city, really central and close to everywhere, room is clean but small, everything about this hotel is small and minimal, even the service. Came across as being short-staffed and we as guests felt like we were staying at a hostel, where everything was self service and we had to be self sufficient as service was not provided.
Overall not counting the service, this hotel is recommended for value, location and cleanliness but don't expect much more.

Hi,

Thank you for your review, I am sorry we do not offer concierge service at the Hotel. The front office team can make reservations for you, if you need to make a booking of a tour. We are a small property and do get very busy, Iam sorry during your stay you had to wait for service, this is something that has been brough to the attention of the rostering staff.
I am glad you enjoyed Sydney and I hope you will stay with us again..

I stayed at the Ibis world square for two weeks and would stay there again. what a lovely place to stay on my first trip to sydney. The staff were professional and always helpful. They made my trip with friendly advise and places to see. Nothing was a bother to them. The hotel had a good location and was good for local shops especially Coles shopping market and small gift shops. A special thanks to Kartina and Ralph who went that extra mile to make me feel welcome as a lone traveller is was lovely to be greeted as a a member of the "family" and not as a stranger as i have found in so many other hotels. The bar area was small but friendly enough to have a coffee or wine while waiting to go out. To one and all a big thank you and I hope to visit you all again in the future.

Thank you for your time to let us know how your stay was.
Our property is ideally located in the centre of the city and would have to be one of the cities most popular hotels. Iam glad to hear our staffs were never too busy to assist you and our other guest. It is our goal to make all guests feel at home.
We hope to see you back soon.
