Stayed for a weekend away with my 6 year old and this place satisfied the reason we were in town which was location and comfy beds.
The best thing was the staff who were friendly and helpful. A special mention here for Immanuel in the breakfast room who made us smile to start the day. The beds (we had two singles) were comfortable which was vital after long days. The other major benefit is the location. We had no car so being close to central station was perfect and it was only a short walk to Darling Harbour and the centre of town.
OK so some things aren't so good. The bathroom cleanliness barely passed muster and (as mentioned on earlier reviews) the shower temperature varied wildy during use. The air conditioner worked but was noisy. The room is small but that didn't concern us as we were only there to sleep. I wouldn't consider the place modern.
Bottom line is you get what you pay for here. It's pretty much half way between the backpackers accross the road and the Marriott up the street. We stayed here because of where it was and the cost compared to other options. That combined with good staff means it did the job for our trip.More
