Booked my husband and I here for a one night break for his birthday. The motel is fantastically refurbished, a classic building in a great location. We went for an upgraded room/suite but really apart from getting a bottle of wine on arrival (the chocolates we were supposed to get never showed) and breakfast, it was just another motel room. Great location to explore The Rocks area however we didn't count on the amount of noise we had to contend with at night. City revellers kept us up until the wee hours of the morning and then the traffic/garbage trucks started. We enjoyed our stay but didn't come away quite as relaxed as we could have.

Stayed for 6 nights in September. The hotel is in a brilliant location, and beautifully refurbished. But it has some way to go in its service to meet its own expectations. E.g. Limited tea choice in room, fruit at breakfast was not ripe, and the service could be much warmer and friendlier..

Stayed at the Harbour Rocks Hotel for three night. For service and location the hotel can't be beaten.
However the room, although described as a suite, was no different from a normal hotel room.
The hotel is quite pricey for what you get (everything is extra: breakfast, Internet etc) but this is due to the location. However location isn't always everything.

Great little boutique hotel right in the heart of The Rocks in Sydney. What's great about this hotel is that it's a close walk to see the Opera House and also the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It's also within walking distance to Circular Quay Ferry Terminal. You can catch a ferry to pretty much anywhere around the harbour area.

The rooms are quite small but very clean and well maintained. If you enjoy the boutique style hotels, then you would love this hotel. In the lobby there is a bar and a lounge area. There is also a big book shelf with heaps of novels and travel reading. It's nice to have a nice glass of red while relaxing. There is also a nice outdoor area on the bottom floor with amazing lights. On a nice balmy night, it's quite nice just to sit outside and enjoy a drink. There is also a restaurant on the bottom floor as well.

The hallways are quite narrow and there is also no lifts in the hotel. From the outside the hotel looks very antique and rustic. The building is beautifully preserved and in line with the other buildings around The Rocks.

The rates per night is quite expensive but I guess of you want something different than this is the hotel for you. Staff is friendly and always helpful. It's a great place to stay to see Sydney.

We were well looked after from the moment we arrived. All staff were very obliging and the food was very good. It was a very handy location to explore the The Rocks,Observatory Hill, Circular Quay and under the Harbour Bridge. The room and bed were comfortable but there was some noise being right on Harrington Street. Bathroom was small but adequate. Nice courtyard to relax in on lower level. We enjoyed having some drinks and trying some tasting plates. These were half price during Happy Hour which was 5-7pm (7 days a week). Breakfast was great.Although there was no lift, staff were happy to help with bags and to store them before and after check in if you wanted to explore the surrounding areas.

Room Tip: Rooms on Quay side (away from road) would be quieter.

The renovation of the old hospital was carried out very tastefully with a blend of old retained sandstone and timber with some modern glass and other new features. The food was excellent for breakfast. The courtyard area was great for a quiet drink. Our room (suite) was spacious. The location was excellent. The down side was the noise from the garbage being cleared in the nearby laneway in the middle of the night and the shower door design enabled one to be locked in the shower if not careful.
