Stayed two nights for a birthday celebration in a full Harbourside view deluxe room. The view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge is sensational.
The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, but I was surprised to read they were 'newly renovated'. The bathroom is getting a little dated, the single flush lavatory an obvious give-away.
Service was for the most part fabulous and friendly, without being over-the-top. Only two small complaints; I asked for the turndown service one night and housekeeping forgot, so we returned after dinner to a messy room. The other issue was room service; I had the creme brulee for dessert and the top had been burnt and was quite bitter.
Overall, a great, but expensive stay. At almost $700 per night, I'd probably pay a little more and book at the Park Hyatt next time, as I stayed there before the recent renovation and it was spectacular even then.
