“Convenient, top hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

Had not stayed in Sydney for sometime then a two night stay for business took me to this fine hotel. It is truly well placed at the bottom of George Street. Access to the Rocks, the old part of town, and Circular Quay with the Opera House is second to none. The room was fantastic, with a view that spanned the Opera House, through Circular Quay to the Harbour Bridge. Truly iconic views. Very nice room as well

Room Tip: if you can afford a little more, go for the harbour view rooms

The establishment had always been exemplary in the times i had stayed. save for one time...
I had requested early check in. Flights from Singapore arrives early (730am) -- and because there were a series of meetings I needed a room to prepare. I was made to wait at the lobby area, with the promise that a room would be ready.

There was no room ready even up to 9am. I had to request for the use of the gym sauna showers to spruce up for my meeting.
I have to say, the staff could have planned this better and offered me the use of showers instead of leading me on, saying that there would be a room available "soon".

And also only on my insistence did they comply with the use of some shower facility to freshen up!

David M, Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, responded to this review, November 12, 2012
Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay with us.
I am sorry to read that your room was not ready early in the morning. We always try to have rooms ready for our guests that arrive before check in time and even schedule our housekeeping staff on standby from the early morning to prepare the rooms as soon as possible. As you had important meetings, I would suggest to reserve the room from the previous night so you are guaranteed access to your room as soon as you arrive in the morning.
If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Kind regards
David Macklin

We recently stayed at the newly renovated Four Seasons and it was amazing. The room and it's decor were modern and clean. The outdoor heated pool was stunning - and the view of the harbour complemented it wonderfully. Service was implacable. As it's location is at the beginning of The Rocks it was an easy walk up to the middle of the CBD.

Stayed for 2 nights leisure trip.
Rooms are small , but view is amazing : ask for full harbour view.
The kind and genuine service is really why I like this hotel.
Renovations are taking place , and I don't mind as it shows they care.
Pricing : not cheap but Sydney is not cheap.
Will defenitely return.

It was a beautiful hotel in a great location,. It was really close to everything in Sydney. Just down the road was a great Italian cafe. The room service was very expensive with a $15 delivery fee (public holiday) but it was delicious. The staff were very helpful. In the morning they also had free takeaway coffee's, great quality coffee.

Just returned from Austalia and spent six days at the Four Seasons. I thought the location was perfect and the room was great. The highlights for me were having an outdoor pool to lounge around after running around sight seeing all day. Breakfast was goood - but I ordered off the menu and skipped the buffet. The staff at the hotel were amazing,so polite and helpful. They have a good gym at the hotel - but there is also a full size gym a block away. Prices for laundry and internet were ridiculous. There is a nearby laundry in the Rocks that will deliver your clothes back to the hotel for a nominal fee. Also across the street from the hotel entrance on the third floor is a store with internet that was cheap and always available. Sydney is a gorgeous city and the Four Seasons is a great place to stay while you are there.

I stayed here for three nights whilst on business. The staff are very efficient and friendly, I could not fault the service. Rooms are well appointed and whilst some renovations were ongoing they were organised to ensure the did not interfere with the guests. The hotel gives you great access to The Rocks area / Sydney Harbour and the fine restaurant's that come with it. It is also in walking proximity to the Sydney Harbour bridge, opera house and the ferry terminal that can whisk you away to areas further afield such as Manly. It also makes it an easy 10 min walk to the down town office district. If you are around over the weekend their is a a lot of activity including food markets throughout the rocks area. The hotel bar is quite well appointed and is very busy on weekend nights but well worth a visit if you are son inclined. Lastly it is a moderate cab fare from the airport making it a stand out location wise.
