The room views would have to be some of the best on the Harbour. Our room had both views of the Bridge and Opera House. Rooms Clean, soft, warm...that view!! outstanding!!
Breakfasts are huge with lots of assortment and in addition to the smorgasbord you can order some additional items already in the cost of the buffet. Coffee lovely!
Seafood buffet is a good option with lots of choice and decent drinks packages can be purchased. Make sure you have a drink upstairs in the bar on level 36. We weren't able to get into Altitude restaurant unfortunately! So pre book asap if you want to dine up there. Oh and the teas in the Lobby look out of this world, grab a traditional or chocolate high tea when you get there! its a lovely place to stay. Staff lovely, friendly and ever so helpful!

Room tip: we stayed on the 17th floor Deluxe grand harbour view Room, view was outstanding!

Recently visited Sydney for an overnight stay and were blown away by the treatment received from staff at this wonderful hotel. We arrived early on a flight from the Gold Coast and went straight to the hotel to drop bags as we had a toddler in tow. The reception staff asked if we were celebrating anything. My wife had flown myself and our toddler down to celebrate my birthday. They said they could have the room ready in half an hour so we headed straight to the restaurant for a wonderful buffet breakfast. The Maitre-de quickly offered us complimentary Mimosa's to have with breakfast - WINNING! Afterwards, around 10am, we collected our room keys and to our delight found we had been given a complimentary upgrade to a fabulous suite on one of the Horizon levels, the 32nd floor. I was a bit worried at first (not a fan of heights) but my fears were allayed when we entered the room and found there were no balconies - fine by me. The city and harbour views were spectacular. We decided to crash out for a couple of hours in the comfy bed, having been up since 4am. When we woke we thought we'd take a look at the heated indoor pool and there I 'chilled' for a while in the steaming hot spa. When we got back to the room - SURPRISE! - a complimentary bottle of champers and divine slice of decadent mud cake. Later that evening we checked out the rooftop (Level 36) Blue Bar on 36 - harbour bridge views to die for. The hotel is very well situated about a 10 minutes stroll down to Circular Quay, where we took a relaxing harbour cruise by ferry. Our young one was having a nap around checkout time the next day, so the gracious staff happily extended it for us. We will definitely stay there again. A wonderful experience.

We had a beautiful week in Sydney & the staff at the Shrangri-la were brilliant. My wife & I don't often get a chance to have a holiday, neither had been to Sydney before and our stay was made fantastic by the staff & amenities at the Shrangri-la.

We stayed here for a night in an Executive Grand Suite as a family treat. The hotel is lovely and the staff are friendly and very professional. The main bed was very comfy but the sofa bed in the suite was very uncomfortable. Our kids complained that the springs dug into them so I doubt an adult could sleep well on it. The pool was very nice and the gym is great. The only complaint we have is that the Horizon Club is the least impressive Club I've ever seen in a five star hotel. The afternoon tea offering consisted of a handful of very small, dry scones and a muesli bar slice which seems ridiculous when the Shangri La Sydney has a famous pastry chef. The tea and coffee was hard to find. The evening drinks only goes from 6-8 and kids are barred from 7 even though they are not barred from the other bars in the hotel at that time. All pretty stingy. The breakfast was very average. It is definitely not worth paying more for the Horizon Club. When we checked in the guy on the desk didn't even tell us we had access to the Horizon Club. I would definitely recommend the hotel but don't pay extra for Horizon Club.
