Bit dated, but overall excellent value, great view, and horizon club staff excellent. Only downside, poor quality of 'champagne' and wine in horizon club ' and hot food not always hot. Best bed i have had in an Australian hotel. Did not want to leave it.

Booked through their own website, pretty easy transaction and can claim Malaysian Airlines FF points which is nice.

Booked a harbour view room which we got on the 12th floor, amazing views right over Circular Quay to the opera house.

Room was large, well kept and modern. The TV didn't work properly which was fixed and then broke again. We reported it and it was fixed and worked for the remainder of our days there.

Location is at the back end of Sydney near the Rocks district which is close to the Harbour Bridge and the Harbour, can be at the train station in 5mins of walking. If walking back to the hotel from George St be mindful of the large hill you have to go up, can be a struggle.

Would go back.

Despite arriving very early we were given a room immediately. We had opted for a cheaper room overlooking Darling Harbour. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed. The bathroom had the best shower in any hotel I have stayed at. Several have complained about the view but I feel that is very nit picking as you have to go to the window and look down to see the road to the bridge and toll. From the bed or a chair it was a pleasant view over water and into the distance rare in a city hotel. room facilities were excellent, all worked and free wifi.
The lounge bar and cafe are excellent and a cheap choice for breakfast. If breakfast is not included in your say it is a better option as the breakfast option is a silly price per person clearly designed for business accounts.
The Altitude restaurant is outstanding with fabulous food and one of the worlds most iconic views. A treat you must do but you will need to book online well before you go if you want to choose the time. Expensive but worth every penny or dollar. The adjacent cocktail bar is always busy also with amazing views and superb cocktails.
The swimming pool/gym complex on floor two is very good with a pleasant outdoor area. Sadly the gardens by the cafe are often ruined by the presence of too many smokers.
The location of the hotel is brilliant with easy walking to all the major attractions despite the uphill bit on the return just at the end. staff were excellent and the concierge service in particular being extremely helpful.
This is a busy hotel with lots of functions but it still manages to be a great base for tourists. It will seem expensive but that merely reflects the Australian dollar at the moment and that is true of all eating out etc at the moment anywhere in Australia cities and hotspots.
I would not hesitate to stop here again.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great Sydney location near The Rocks area. Perfect tourist location but also close to CBD for business travellers.
Rooms are large and tastefully decorated, huge bathrooms with luxury amenities. Bed was super comfy. I was fortunate to be on a high floor with unobstructed views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge, amazing!!
Breakfast in the restaurant provided a wide selection of food, catering for Western and Asian tastes. Staff were extremely professional and friendly. Love this hotel, looking forward to staying again!

Located in the charming Rocks neighborhood, true 5 Star hotel with great views, well appointed rooms and great service.

Spacious room with both desk and vanity with a huge bathroom (separate oversized shower and bath).  Super comfortable bed and extra blanket/pillow in closet.  Nice 5 star touches like turndown service, free bottled water, free WiFi and overnight shoe shine. The in-room coffee machine was top of the line and our room had a DVD player with interactive television.

Views are amazing (we overlooked the Opera House) and the location is perfect ... Just down hill to the old town or to George Street (main commercial street), also easy to circular quay ferry station.  Take the Red Line (Neutral Bay) for pleasant 20 minute round trip ride around the harbor.

All of the staff we encountered we're very friendly and helpful and room service was fast.

Terrific hotel in perfect neighborhood for exploring Sydney.

Absolutely loved our stay here in for a long weekend away in Sydney. We had booked a deluxe grand harbour view room which has amazing views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The window seated was cushioned and deep enough to comfortably sit and gaze out the window. The room was a very generous size as was the marble bathroom. Large shower and separate bathtub with vanity centred in the middle of the bathroom. Music piped to bathroom from TV was a nice touch. Large wardrobe space. Dressing vanity to the left of the bed paired with vanity seat and large desk which would be perfect for business or study. The hotel lobby was inviting and the lobby bar was comfortable with nice views of gardens outside. Did not use the pool or spa facilities but they also looked fantastic. Reception staff were friendly and also extended our check-out time by a few hours with no additional charge.
Breakfast was included in our package and was delicious. Chef's cook eggs and pancakes to order (the line for this service can be long on weekends) in addition to an array of fruits, pastries, breads, cereals and another items such as muesli and yogurt compote tubs etc.
Great location at the adjacent to the top end of George Street at Circular Quay. Easy walking distance to Circular Quay and main shopping to be had in Pitt Street Mall, Westfield and QVB. Have stayed in Sydney before at Hilton - George Street and would easily stay at either again.
Cannot rate this hotel with any higher regards.

Stayed here for one night for the first time.

Booked on line at the last minute using the Shangri-La's iPhone app. All went through easily, got SMS and email confirmation straight away.

Deluxe Grand Harbour view room on the 18th floor. View was every bit as good as promised by the marketing pictures. Looked straight down to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay and the Opera House.

Comfortable bed. Curtains truly blacked out the room which is good if you want a sleep in.

Not disappointed.
