Have used Shangri-la many times for business stay, business functions and business meetings.

Excellent location right at circular quay, overlooking the Sydney harbour bridge as well as the Opera House, and views of the Darling harbour on the other side.

Great service. No faults at all.

Go to Level 36 to the Blu Bar in the evening for some amazing views of Sydney.

Room Tip: The club level rooms provide you access to club lounge on Level 30. The extra charges are probably w...

We stayed in this hotel in March 2013 for 7 nights. In a superior room. The room was on the 8th floor and looked out over the Sydney harbour. Just to note for those with lesser mobility - the hotel is uphill from Circular quay, it is a 5-10 min walk to the quay so you might not really want to book transport but it may be too much of a uphill struggle for some. We arrived early before the official check in time after a long haul flight, and even though I had requested a room on a high floor we were so tired we took the only room available which was on the low 8th floor in our room category. The views were good over looking the end of the harbour bridge, however a higher floor would have given us better views over more of the harbour and beyond. The room was large and spacious, and very clean, except for the outside windows. I just wish hotels would consider supplying two comfy chairs in the room especially when the room is large enough, so one person doesn't have to sit on the bed to relax, especially when the room is for two people. After our stay in this hotel we would consider next time staying in Darling harbour which is the next harbour along, mainly for the fact there is much more to see and do, restaurants, bars and entertainments on the hotel door steps, I would consider Darling to be a more relaxing, holiday location that circular quay, however saying that the Shangri - La is more or less midway between the two harbours. There wasn't anything we didn't like about this hotel.
A tip for a sight seeing trip - consider buying a multi ticket which allows travel on ferries, buses, trains within the immediate Sydney area for $44 AUS each person for seven days, we used this everyday and really enjoyed the freedom it gave us, and the savings we must have made. We even nipped to Manly on the ferry for the second time in the week, we had a few hours to spare one afternoon just to have a coffee, then returned again.
Overall this hotel is very nice, and the staff are friendly, polite and helpful.

Room Tip: Chose a room on a high floor for the best views. Even if you are tired after a long haul flight wait...

The hotel was lovely and in a great location to all the sights of sydney. We had booked a opera house room with great views from the 19th floor over circular key and the opera house. Large bed and well appointed spacious bathroom. Highlight of the hotel was the restaurant on the 36th floor with stunning views over the harbour in several directions. Food and service were excellent. Made us a great cocktail in the bar next door... Service throughout the hotel was good.. Would stay here again.

Perfect two nights here at the Shangri-La.
Breakfast wasn't as good as I hoped for a big hotel.
Didn't receive turn down on the second evening.
Views from the room was just amazing!
Service from the front door men were brilliant, very friendly.
Stayed on the 17th floor and definitely was worth every penny!
Would return.

Room Tip: Get the Opera house and Harbour bridge for the view. Absolutely stunning when the sun rises and thro...

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at the Shangri-La and as usual (we've stayed quite a few times), we were not disappointed!

Upon arrival the staff asked if there was a reason for our stay & were surprised to receive an upgrade to 1 bedroom club suite (from the harbour view club room). Within an hour there was a knock at the door with a small birthday cake.

The suite was enormous with spectacular views of the harbour & a window in the bedroom over-looking the club suite on the floor below. As our business is 24/7, the little work that needed to be done that weekend was sooo tough ;) to handle from the desk with the view of the harbour bridge. Now, I need to find a way to work that way more often.

The staff in the club lounge were friendly and helpful as usual & nothing is too much for them. We ate breakfast on the Saturday down at the buffet as we'd never tried it & although a wider range it was busy and quite noisy. We were happy to return to the peace of the club lounge for breakfast on the Sunday morning. Canapés of an evening in the lounge were divine & room service for lunch on Saturday was like fine dining with a view, but only us - heavenly.

We had dinner at Altitude on Saturday night and we were not disappointed. A table by the window and exquisite meal with attentive staff. To top the night, desert came out with Happy Birthday written on the plate. The last time we ate at Altitude was our wedding anniversary & they did the same with desert, but we didn't expect it this time.

What a wonderful way to celebrate! We're never disappointed with a weekend of luxury at the Shangri-La

Room Tip: The club rooms are worth the upgrade. Turn-down service, quality toiletries (inc tooth brush &...

Stayed here for one night for my partner's birthday. Chose a Harbour view room and was given a complimentary upgrade to a suite on level 17 which was very nice!

Room had amazing views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera house and Darling harbour and a very comfortable bed. Bathtub near a large window (with excellent view) was also very impressive. Breakfast was quite excellent, compared to most 5-star hotels I've stayed in with a large range of options and fairly good service.

Will definitely go back. Thanks to Shangri-La for an excellent stay!
