“Ideal for the location and the views”

We chose this hotel for the location, as we wanted to walk everywhere whilst exploring The Rocks etc, and also that we wanted views to encapsulate beautiful Sydney harbour. Our Premier Grand Harbour View room was perfect, and everything we had hoped for. Superb views of course, but with wide and/or cushioned window seats to perch on, and the room wonderfully spacious. Even when we weren't off exploring, we were still able to appreciate our surroundings.

We also found all levels of staffing to be friendly, helpful and very professional. We will most certainly return..!!!

I have stayed at the Shangri-la hotel quite a few times over the past year. I really love this hotel. The staff are friendly and always have a smile on their face. Each time I have stayed at this hotel they have upgraded me to a more spacious room compliments to them. It is those things that will keep me coming back to this hotel. The service is top notch and the surroundings are immaculate, spacious and relaxing. The views are always wonderful and it is in a brilliant location in the heart of the city. If I stay in the city of Sydney on any occasion I always stay at the Shangri-la Sydney.

My partner and I stayed at the Shangri-La Sydney to celebrate our engagement. The level of service provided was nothing short of extraordinary. The attentiveness of the management staff and personal touch provided by the hotel manager, Mr A Ropady, absolutely made our night complete. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property to all and sundry.

Room Tip: Book a Horizon Club room, worth the extra!

We'd had a problem with the room at the Intercontinental and wanted to book into the Shangri-la three days earlier than planned. They too were busy because of Chinese New Year, but we got the level of customer service we are used to in Shangri-la. Just excellent. We had a lovely room looking over the harbour. Only issues are that foyer and restaurant aren't the standard of other Shangri-las.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a harbour view room.

Stayed at the Shangri-La for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week cruise. Hotel is in a great location at the Rocks - easy to walk to Circular Quay, the Opera House and the main shopping district. We had a fabulous courner room looking out over the bay and Darlng Harbour but unfortunately the day we arrived was when the tropical cyclone was over NSW so our view was somewhat obscured! Luckily the second evening the skies had cleared and we had a great view.
Room was very comfortable with a fabulous bed and all the ususal facilities. The hotel staff were very efficient and helpful especially as one of our suitcases was 'delayed' by Quantas - the reception/concierge staff seem to be very familiar with this and assured us that if the case wasn't delivered at the time promised (which it wasn't) they would contact Quantas directly (which they did) and the case subsequently appeared in our room the following day.
The first evenig due to the poor weather and lack of suitable clothing (in the mising case!) we ordered room service - very quick and efficient and delicious. The following evening we went up to the bar on the 36th(?) floor - fantastic views of the Bridge and the Opera House and a lovely setting for an early evening cocktail.
Great hotel especially for a short stay as it is so convenient to all the sights and if returning to Sydney would definately stay here again.

My partner and I stayed recently and were delighted with the service and quality of the Hotel. We were on the 16th floor and had a gorgeous room which looked out to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House! We also had cocktails up on the 36th floor which I highly recommend :)

We will back again very soon :)

This was our second visit to this hotel and hopefully not our last!!. This hotel is in a perfect location at the Rocks with the rooms offering unsurpassed views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. We opted for the Horizon Club rooms which are perfect. They have their own reception on the 30th floor and the Club Lounge offers breakfast, coffee/tea facilities all day, afternoon tea and drinks and canapés in the evening. This was a fantastic chance to chat to other guests and to have a place to go to relax, all with an amazing view!
The service was impeccable. The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable, although if we were to pick fault the rooms could maybe do with a bit of updating and redecoration (something we believe is planned), other than that an excellent stay in a vibrant and lovely city.
