The rooms are nice and roomy with high ceilings. Everything is spotless. The big tile shower was especially-nice. Access to downtown Sydney shopping and exploring was ideal. Being on the edge of Hyde Park was nice too. The free "555" buses that head down to the harbor were very convenient. The Sydney Maritime Museum was wonderful. But best of all is the hotel staff. They really went out of their way to make sure our visit was perfect! My only regret was that I wasn't able to track down each and every one of them at the end of our stay to pass on a proper token of our appreciation!

Room Tip: As far as I can tell there aren't much differences in the rooms. All of them appear ideal and m...

Please note, when it says, "Guest parking is available on a limited first-come, first-served basis", it means there are 6 parking spaces. We had forgotten about this, as there was no mention of it on the 4 pages of Hotel.com confirmation that we received. So when we got there, there was nowhere to park our car. I tried to get sense out of a really disinterested front desk person, who couldn't offer any affordable parking alternatives other than Goulburn Street Parking Station, two blocks away. I had the real impression that he basically couldn't care less. "Take it up with Best Western" was all he could say. He also got his facts wrong. He said parking at Goulburn Street would cost $60 for the night. I asked, "Really, even on a Saturday night?". He was adamant, yes $60. This was even more irking, after finding out one of the 6 parking spots at the hotel would have been $20. But luckily he was wrong. It was $25 for a Saturday night. But beware, if you need to park at Goulburn Street on any weeknight, it will cost $58. Now why am I having to do all the research and tell you this? Wouldn't this be the kind of information a helpful front desk clerk could have been aware of and shared? By the way, I didn't appreciate getting an instant case of athletes foot from the shower. It would be nice if the bathrooms were properly cleaned. It is also helpful to you to know that the apartment style room with kitchen doesn't actually have a cooking hob.

Room Tip: If you need to park, book a spot real early

The boutique hotel is smack right in the city centre, not far from a subway station. For those who don't mind walking a bit, most places of interest in Sydney are within walking distance.

We arrived at the hotel in late morning and the housekeeping was able to turn around a room quickly, so we had an earlier check-in, which we appreciate.

Our studio apartment room, which is the basic room for the hotel, is ok. The design of the room is comfortable, clean, and pretty spacious for a city hotel. The air-conditioner is however under-powered for handle its size. Even when we turned down the thermostat, the room remains kind of stuffy and warm. The room has a functional kitchenette for simple cooking, free wifi Internet, but no view. Baby cot's without charges, a plus since we've read some other Sydney hotels charging AUD20/night for cots.

Overall we think Hotel Stellar is decent for its location and ok rooms, and good bargain in Sydney if you book ahead to take advantage of their advance reservation prices.

We loved our night spent here. Room with a kitchenette we didn't really expect. Staff was most helpful especially when we needed to store luggage before our flight. Cute little bar and great coffee shop attached. Would def recommend.

Room Tip: We had a rear facing room. I do think it is a great value, though this is our first trip to Sydney.

Stayed here one night to go to a show at the Opera House. Average service at desk. Great rooms. Big with everything you could need in a small kitchen. Super Clean. Great bathroom shower. All looks very modern and new. Paid $150 which we thought was excellent considering the quality of rooms. Took us 25 mins or so to walk to Opera House. Would definitely stay again.

Great little hotel with friendly staff and large, clean rooms. The cafe downstairs does a great coffee and rasin toast which I strolled over to Hyde park to enjoy the sunshine. Easy walking distance to china town or the many shopping malls.
