I was excited to stay at this hotel as a treat on a busy trip to Australia visiting family and friends. Unfortunately, it really wasn’t worth the price.
The Check-in experience was sub par as we had to wait 45 minutes for our room (even though we checked in after 3 o’clock). The staff in the 3 Bottle Man bar seem overwhelmed and under trained. The hotel is very busy and a little tired around the edges.
The room was comfortable and we did have a nice view of the Opera House.
If this hotel charged $100 less per night and called itself a 3.5 star I would be satisfied. 5 star it is not.
You’re paying for location and the location is good but Marriott could do better here.

This hotel is in a perfect location. One block from the commuter rail to the airport and one block to Circular Quay to get all the ferries. Only a five minute walk to the Opera House, Harbor Bridge and the Rocks. The hotel is excellent and the rooms are beautiful. We had an Opera House view from a high floor. The concierge was an excellent help and the concierge lounge was quite good.

I was here for a work conference. We used the conference rooms on the 3rd floor and they were great, and the catering for morning tea/lunch/afternoon tea was delicious. The Arancini balls we had for afternoon tea were the best Arancini balls I have ever had and everyone else said the same: 10/10.
My room was spacious and clean and bed was very comfortable. I had a view of the Opera House. The bathroom was clean and modern.
We had breakfast every day in the restaurant and the food was delicious, they catered extensively for all tastes but especially healthy options.
One night we went to the Customs Bar on site (outside) and had a BBQ dinner/drinks.
Overall highly recommended for a classy stay right on Pitt St near Circular Quay.

This is an excellent hotel for your stay in Sydney. A 5 min. walk to buses/trains and waterfront. Great hotel for taking cruises to/from as you can walk to ship from hotel. Shopping within 10 min walk. Room was large with alot of room to sit and relax with mini fridge. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Excellent hotel!!

We stayed there about five years ago could not speak more highly about it the view was fantastic no complaints.
This time we brought some friends along the four of them two adults and two children were crammed into a tiny room and had views of a concrete wall, our room was a little bigger we were five with interconnecting rooms, our view was not much better a construction site. The smoke from the fires was bad so one night we asked for an extra bottle of complementary water and were told sorry sir there are only two bottles supplied per room per night, but we were five, that was disappointing, the hotel is still nice but very busy.

Room tip: You have to ask for a room with views because there aren't many

Dear overseasexperience,

Thank you for choosing the Sydney Harbour Marriott as a preferred choice of accommodation during your recent visit to Sydney.

As you can appreciate, we do offer other room types with such as view of habour for our guest's preferred choices. Whilst there is a lot of construction activity around circular Quay and this may be out of our control, if your next travels bring you back to Sydney, please feel free to contact our in-house reservation team directly so we can note in your profile that you were not pleased about overlooking construction sites.

Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Sydney.

Warm regards,
