We checked into the Marriott on 29/12/2017. Initial impression was that the hotel was beautiful, very modern and the check in staff where very friendly and welcoming to the hotel.
Initially we had booked 2 rooms for our party of 6. We had only booked standard rooms, but on arrival to the rooms we had a bridge view. This of course was a bonus as I know you have to pay a bit more for these. So off to a good start!
Myself and my sister, then checked out as we went to stay with a friend overnight, and then rechecked in on 31/12/2017. I had booked an Opera House view room as I hoped I’d get a good view of the NYE fireworks from it. I went back to the check in desk to get the new room and the lady was fabulous. I think her name was Patricia. Our room wasn’t ready, so she gave me access to the early arrivals lounge and promised me a phone call as soon as my room was ready. When the room was ready I went back to the front desk, where she had informed me that she had managed to get me upgraded to a suite! Of course I was very excited and this was very kind of her, as again I know sometimes there’s an additional charge for this!

The suite was fantastic, it was very nice to have a separate space to sit and relax away from the bedroom area. This also hosted amazing views of the fireworks. I’ve put some photos on so make sure you catch them! Obviously you can’t see the bridge but with the TV on and the view of the Opera House it was great.
Also not to mention, two bottles of prosecco and a box of chocolates we’re waiting in the room for us! Again a lovely little touch that did not go unnoticed.
As for quality of sleep, the beds where great.
Location of this property is amazing, right where you need to be.
Also we did actually have breakfast at the hotel. What can I say, it was the best hotel breakfast buffet I have ever had! There was a large selection of hot foods obviously with the traditional bacon, eggs, sausages but also pulled pork, rice and fried veg which I thoroughly enjoyed. They had a variety of fruits, pastries, pancakes and smoothies which where included in the price.
All in all, fantastic stay and I would recommend hotel this to family and friends.
Thank you for a wonderful trip to Sydney! More
