“Comfort & relax right on the city center”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014

Comfortable and silent rooms, real Marriot type bed: realy good sleep on it. The hotel is conveniently located, a few steps away from the Opera House, 50 meters from the Circular Quay Multi Modal area whre one can take bruises, ferries, train, bus and... if you wnat to do some shopping in Pitt Street... it's right there. Food is five star, room is five star although if the decoration is dated, asking for a refurbishment! Indoor pool is quite cold, small and noisy without any control, this is maybe the less interesting part of the hotel. All together, this is a very balanced option.

We spent 6 nights here in April. The hotel is convenient to the ferry, light rail and bus systems in Sydney, which were very easy to navigate. The views from the hotel were great. The concierge lounge was a real treat - open extended hours and weekends, which saved us a lot of time and money. The hotel associates were extremely friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to any traveling to Sydney.

Three couples stayed for 4 nights and it was delightful for us all. The rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Room was not extra large, but was plenty and was definitely a fine size. Two couples upgraded to an Opera House view since we could get our rooms right away, as opposed to having to wait until early afternoon after coming in from US flight. (The 3rd room was ready upon our 7:30 am arrival.)

The location of this hotel is great for taking in all of the action down at Circular Quay - Captain Cook Cruises, Opera House, The Rocks and all sorts of activity down there. It's just a short walk to good shopping and restaurants in the city.

If at all possible, I recommend upgrading to include access to the Executive Level Lounge which includes a good breakfast buffet, tea in the afternoon, and drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres in the early evening. Eating out can be VERY expensive in Australia, and the Lounge is not only easy, but there is free Wi-Fi in the Lounge. Australia just doesn't seem to provide Wi-Fi to hotel guests (even hotel members) without a fee. Can be frustrating, as we have been spoiled to expect it in the states for the most part.

There is a great craft fair on the weekends at The Rocks and there were a lot of locally made Australian fun souvenirs to be purchased.

Room Tip: Two couples looked over the Opera House, and one didn't. All of the rooms were good, but my hus...

I've stayed in a lot of Marriotts, and they're always a decent choice. The Marriott Circular Quay in Sydney was in a great city-center location, with views of the Harbor Bridge, blocks from the Opera House and Botanical Gardens and steps from shops and cafes. The room was comfortable, clean, and pleasant, and the staff was friendly and competent. The price was reasonable for the center of this expensive city.

We would just like to say the customer service from each staff was amazing! so friendly & helpful.
A special mention to Troy from Valet & Hemant from Front Desk - they were friendly, helpful & just had a great vibe about them. We were able to check in 3 hours early which was great!
Thank you for making our stay just an absolutely great experience! We will definitely come back and recommend the Marriott Sydney Harbour.

Place was great, nice clean rooms, great view and good location. Beds were quite uncomfortable though. Breakfast was a huge disappointment, the buffet range was ok but the fact that all the food sits out exposed to the elements and only the bottom is on a hotplate make me think it would be a breeding ground for bacteria and certainly not enough protection from sneezes etc. I've never been to a buffet where the food is not covered, I'm surprised it meets food standards in Australia. I hope they can prove me wrong but the hot food on the buffet was cold, and this was only half an hour after it opened.

I stayed two nights at the Marriott whilst in Sydney on business. I booked a king room on its base rate. The hotel is very close to Circular Quay so if you are on a holiday it's a very good location. On business it's close to most CBD offices. My room had everything you might want and was clean and neat. No view but for the price you would expect that. Bathroom was dated but worked.
Breakfast was okay and next time I would probably give it a miss as there are many coffee/breakfast cafés close by. The hotel was at or very near capacity when I stayed as it seems that passengers from a cruise slip like staying at this hotel. It's very popular.
