“Simply outstanding. Great location. Great staff.”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Simply outstanding. Arrived early in the morning from our flight originating from LAX and were treated to a great large welcome lounge, complete with showers. This hotel is very conveniently located to the Circular Quay train station, ferry terminals, and bus stops. Traveling with a 5-year old, we enjoyed only having a short walk to catch any form of transportation needed. Also a great location for running routes: (1) south to Hyde Park, then up thru the Botanical Gardens, Opera House, and back to Circular Quay [5-6mi] and (2) under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and around the point in an out-and-back [4-5mi]. Bring a camera when you run, the views are insanely beautiful. Room with a view of the Opera House is definitely worth the extra $. Room was very adequate in size, very clean, and very comfortable. Bathroom was outstanding in having both a shower and bath, plus a laundry string over the bath so one can hand wash & dry workout clothes. Staff were incredibly friendly; we were greeted every time we entered or departed the lobby be either the doorman, bellboy, or concierge. Got to know the concierge Greg who was an amazing help numerous times in providing directions, maps, and dining recommendations. Thank you and keep up the good work, Greg. Would stay again. Simply outstanding.

Room Tip: Opera House view is worth the extra $.

I have an opera house view room which was really an added value to the trip to Sydney. Th hotel is a few yards from circular quay which is a main city attraction. You can walk a few blocks to Sydney tower, queen Victoria building and even to Darling bay. You also can walk to the bridge. If you arrive by plane you can talk the train from Sydney international air port for a 15 min ride to circular quay station which is perhaps 70 yards away from the hotel.

The staff is super friendly and the service is spot in. The hotel is surrounded with bars and restaurants which explains the absence of major earries inside the hotel. I had an unforgettable burger at lobby bar thought!

The room is large nd the bed is clean and cozy. Over all is a great value and will stay here next time I am in town. Here is a shot from my window.

We stayed at the Marriott in December whilst in Sydney for business. It was a passable hotel, good service, clean rooms etc, but like very other Marriott in North America. I would recommend the park Hyatt over the Marriott, I think just a tad classier!

Stayed here using my Marriott points rewards. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was modern and clean. They did forget to leave towels after the room was refreshed, but a quick phone call to the front desk resolved the problem. They have a computer that you can print flight boarding passing, but the printer never worked and I had to ask for help a few times to get the printer to work, which was very frustrating. I had a city view room, which was nice. Very close to Circular Quay and the trains and ferries. I was given free Wi-Fi since I'm a reward member, but it didn't work until the second day so I had to use the Wi-Fi in the lobby.

The Marriott at Circular Quay is well positioned to make the most of the Bridge, Opera House and Botanic Gardens. The staff are incredibly helpful and attentive; from the team managing the taxis through to the breakfast and front desk people. They are always willing to answer questions or resolve queries.

The hotel itself is dated and feels a little tired. However, the rooms are generally more modern and well equipped (including adaptors). The double bed could fit more than two people and it was lovely to be under a duvet for once.

The breakfast was expensive for what it was (or what you could realistically eat in one sitting)!

The gym is fine, although a little cramped into the oddest of spaces.

If you wish to swim, then the pool isn't really that great for laps, more suitable for a dip.

After our 5 night cruise ended we took a very short taxi ride to the Marriott to check our bags until we could check in as we got off the ship at 8:45 am. We were staying 3 more nights in Sydney at the Marriott. There was some initial frustration but between the hotel staff and a wonderful guest services lady, Deborah Mulia, my issues were handled with great service. My Spa Suite was not on the executive level which includes breakfast, snacks, and happy hour as well as 2 iMac computers. We wound up getting an executive king (not a suite) for less money, although a smaller room, and added on a rollaway bed. Normally that's $55/night plus tax. However, Deborah comped that as a courtesy for the hassle and confusion checking in. The rooms are very modern and clean. Nothing frayed or dated. We had a view of the bridge and the cruise ship docked at the Quay. The Four Seasons and Intercontinental would have been at least $150 - $200 more per night. Higher rating, maybe. But the Marriott was plenty plush and the executive level goes a long way. It's literally a 7 minute walk to the Harbor. There was also a little confusion over the complimentary Limo service to the airport Deborah had set-up and they put me in the wrong SUV. Again, Deborah said they would credit my card back for the error.
I can deal with confusion and mistakes if the service is good and they quickly correct their mistakes.
Let's just say I have discerning taste and high expectations. When I give a good rating---BELIEVE IT!! If you experience problems, go on their website and post a comment as well as voice your concern to the concierge and you will be taken care of!

Room Tip: You can be on the corner with bridge view and view of cruise ships at harbor to right (like me in 26...

This is one of my favorite Marriotts. I think I have stayed here four times. Perfectly situated to walk to the Quay, The Rocks or into town, the Marriott is perfectly situated. The Conceirge Suite is perfect for breakfast and cocktails. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Ifmyouncan stay on an upper floor. I got upgraded to a harbor view and overlooked the Quay and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I was back latermthenfollowing week and had a lower floor and really missed "my view".
Very convienent and newly refurbished.
