“We liked everything except the room service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

We stayed in a newly refurbished room and paid a bit extra for an upgrade to Opera House view on arrival. The rooms aren't big but they were okay for a couple of nights. We'd got a good deal on lastminute and, for anyone trying to crack the code on the secret hotel deal, it was $195 per night. After a very disappointing meal from room service the night we checked in (burgers that could have been used as a discus by athletes competing in the Olympics) the food at the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. We had lunch there the next day and my pasta of the day (from the a la carte menu) was freshly cooked. My partner had the seafood buffet and was very happy. The seafood buffet also offered meat and other pasta dishes. The location of this hotel is good and all the staff were friendly. It was also a short walk to Circular Quay and Cafe Sydney which is another bonus. We would stay there again and simply avoid their room service meals.

Room Tip: We were offered an upgrade to either a Harbour Bridge view for an extra $30 per night or Opera House...

I have stayed at this hotel before and it was time I did a review on Trip Advisor

Great location, close to the centre of the CBD, the Rocks, the Opera house and the harbour ferries.

Many rooms have been refurbished and have a high tech feel about them including basic free wifi, the bed was just so comfortable and soft and comfy pillows.

the only draw back was no drawers or shelves to put things into.

The front desk staff were very friendly, helpful and most professional

The housekeeping staff are great!

The indoor pool and gym were just magnificent

I highly recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing and pleasant stay.

If you can, get a package that includes access to the executive lounge, very worthwhile with free food and drinks. none of this honour pay thing like in the US Marriotts.

All in all, a great place to stay

Room Tip: Try to ask for a high floor, great views of the Harbour bridge and Opera House and Harbour are spect...

Way over priced. Tired rooms andsub-standard bathrooms are the hallmarks of this Marriott. Hotel's restaurant prices are crazy. Location is very good, but only come here on your company's expense account. Or, better yet spend your travel funds elsewhere.

Though not the newest kid on the block, the Marriott at Sydney Harbour is very well located to explore the city, be it on foot, on ferries via Circular Quay, or via trains and city rail. The Sydney Opera House is ten minutes' walk away, and you should also take the chance to visit the nearby Botanical Gardens, as well as The Rocks. Service is good and friendly, but the lifts do take some time. Breakfast can be expensive but there are many cafes nearby.

Room Tip: Usually, Internet has to be paid for, but you can apply to join as a Marriott member and the basic I...

Yes, the restaurant does not have a view, but the buffet breakfast and the staff were wonderful, diligent and the coffee superb. The beds were super comfortable and the room was tidy on returning each day. The only fault was there was no mint of Friday night so I couldn't indulge on a lychee mojito that was advertised and I think the door men could be a little more on the ball when we left the hotel, I had to flag my own taxi but they got the drift the next day. Will stay again when in Sydney.

Great location in the heart of all the main tourist attractions. Rooms are small and basic. Bathrooms very small. View from the rooms stunning. Offered late check out for an extra $50! And offered better view for $30! Heated indoor pool too cold to use.
Staff really friendly and helpful.

First, the location could not be better, a block from Circular Quay, restaurants, bars, the ferries, the airport link, etc. The hotel is great, rooms are good size with nice views, executive lounge with a very friendly staff, would return for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for a Opera house view, nicer than the bridge side.
