We stayed at Pullman Hyde park for short break, staff were extremely helpful and friendly, one of staff has offered me a stroller when she saw my three years old daughter after she know we will do lots walking in the city. She also offered my two kids small box of chocolates after we checked out. Everything was perfect. Thank you for your all hard work. We will be back again for sure

With a 7.30am arrival flight we headed straight to the hotel to drop our bags off and head off for the day until checkin that afternoon.
Was pleasantly surprised on arrival that they had a room ready for us. The children loved that they were given a little box of chocolates each from one of the lovely ladies near reception.
Great central location so we were able to walk to pretty much all attractions (no walk more than 20-30mins and we walked
to Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, SCG, The Rocks, Powerhouse Museum etc) otherwise there’s a couple of stations a few mins walk away.
Our room was clean and had the two double beds we had requested.
The TV didn’t work in the room but I didn’t raise this issue with the hotel as it wasn’t something we needed anyway but I could imagine it might be something that would bother other guests. The one night we wanted to watch the tennis we watched it in the bar area.
Pool area was a little smaller that pictures represent and I would question the loungers so close to the pools edge, not particularly safe for smaller children but the pool itself was perfect for the afternoon wind down on the hotter days.
Buffet breakfast was included in our room rate and was a good selection of pastries/fruits/eggs/bacon etc. Freshly made omelette and coffee were the standout for breakfast so was a little surprised it was not on offer on the morning we ate in the executive lounge due to the main breakfast area being overly busy.
We had another early flight and checked out very early but checkout process was quick and friendly.
Overall an enjoyable stay, not a 5 Star really but was good value for what we paid

This is my third stay here. I would have loved to give the Pullman 5/5 but sadly, they let themselves down in some basic services.

PLUSES
We were efficiently and warmly greeted and processed. We arrived at 11am so it was to be expected that the room wasn't ready - that's okay. A truly lovely lady - a supervisor or manager - said she would comp us some wine and cheese as she heard we were there for a special occasion. I thought that was so hospitable!
Room was on the Executive Floor which I had paid for and was quiet, clean and had harbour and Eastern Suburbs views.

MINUSES
I used the 'guest services' phone line three times. First time was to chase up our bags which were a long time being sent up from reception. The phone rang and rang and rang and just as I was about to hang up, someone answered. Second time was for some ice and it was answered promptly.Third time was for some room service and no one answered at all. I ended up using my mobile and calling their outside phone number for room service which is not appropriate for this level of hotel. They also have a room service 'tray charge' of $5 per order - which I asked be deducted as compensation for the phone run-around (and they did do this).
The Executive Lounge was full at aperitivo time (18.00-19.30), there was no hot food available and the one staff member on duty was frazzled trying to take care of everyone and get the food replenished. Kudos to him as he was as hospitable as he could be under the circumstances. I've used the Executive Lounge on a previous visit and it wasn't a madhouse like this - there was also more food options available. I can only presume they've had budget cuts. Oh - and our room card didn't work to let us in so we had to knock on the door.
The lounge was also full at breakfast - people everywhere - although they did have enough food this time around, thankfully. And our room card still didn't work.
The room had a desk light that didn't work and the curtains were torn. There was also spider webs in the corners - I'm no arachnophobe - but a flick of the duster could easily clean this up.
We also had cleaners pounding on the door at 9.15am asking when we were leaving. I know they need to turn rooms around rapidly but seriously? Maybe while they're at it they could fix the desk lamp.
Finally - we couldn't turn off the subtitles on the television despite finding the correct location on the remote to do so. Calling for help over this, we believed, wasn't worth the trouble as no one would probably answer the phone.

Pullman - please lift your game. It's the little things that annoy guests as well as the big things.

Dear KathyW,

Thank you for posting your review on tripadvsior. It is feedback such as yours that gives up the opportunity to make improvements to the quality of product and service levels here at the Hotel. I have addressed your concerns with my management Team to ensure these issues are rectified and that make put plans in place to continually review our performance in these areas. I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times. Although I agree that the staff here are very friendly. And I have tried their buffet breakfast, love the service there (the waiter eagerly made me a delicious flat white coffee when I sat down at the table), some aspects of the hotel drag it down to a 4-star hotel.

The room I stayed in is lovely in size, corner room with one side that has a nice open view. But the other side is very close to the neighbouring building that render the window useless if you want some privacy. Also the floor ceiling is quite low which makes the room more crammed. The bedsheet has a 3-inch split/cut that is located in the middle of the bed. Overall, the room feels dated. The gym on the roof top also in needs of a makeover. The pool is too small for swimming (not much that they can do about that). I also feel that the layout of the hot tub a bit odd as it is in the middle between the gym and sitting area and the pool. However, the view from up there is pretty nice though.

Location wise, either you love it or you don't. You will love it if you prefer a more quiet area it is located near the park. However, if you prefer where the action is, you will need to take an extra 15 mins to get to the QVB or Circular Quay area.

The staff were all lovely, including reservations, restaurant, and bar. The breakfast buffet was amazing and our dinner in the restaurant was just beautiful especially the lamb.
Our room was very well presented and very clean. We spent a lot of time in the roof top pool, looking at views of the city. Its a great location just opposite Hyde park and a great hotel for a family too.
