We stood 4 nights in the Cambridge hotel. Finding a nice and not too expensive hotel in Sydney was very difficult. Finally we chose the Cambridge (even weekend rate was quite expensive, comparing with week tariffs), and we were very glad when we arrived at the hotel, as the room was big, nice, and the most important, the bathroom was new and very clean. Lobby area and reception also nice, quite modern and fashion, and staff nice and helpful, and even at the beginning seemed not possible, finally we could leave some of our luggage for 10 days, as we were doing a trip to the north. After the trip we tried to book again the Cambridge, but for the new date, the rate was still more expensive than the first weekend, so we didn't go back there (which at the end was lucky, as we found an offer at the Pullman, for lower tariff, and we had a great stay there, in a 5 star hotel, and cheaper).
The location was also convenient. Surry Hills is a good area to stay. The streets are quiet and not noisy, and you have restaurants and bars at a walking distance.

I am very pleased to hear that you had a lovely stay at the Cambridge Hotel and that you enjoyed the room, the renovated bathroom, cleanliness and location Surry Hills.

Surry Hills is a very popular destination and the Cambridge Hotel is an excellent choice in this location and therefore the hotel is often running on very high occupancy, hence the rates will also change accordingly.

Unfortunately you did not choose to stay with us the second weekend, but hopefully we will be able to welcome you back again to the Cambridge Hotel Sydney again in the near future.

We went to The Cambridge Hotel for the first 5 days of our honeymoon, we were married in Suffolk in the UK on the 1st September 2012. Two days later we arrived at the hotel. As we were early our room wasn't ready but the friendly staff let us shower and then took our luggage and sent us on our way to explore. When we returned we had been upgraded to the Penthouse and there were chocolates and wine as a gift from the hotel. The buffet breakfast was ace. Internet and laundry was also easy to use and reasonable.

We would return and recomend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is located in surry hills and is very close to the City centre. I chose the location as i had heard great reviews of the restaurants and bars in the area. The Hotel was truley an suprise package. I stayed in a deluxe room on the 12th floor facing the city. The views were spectacular. The flat screen TV was bigger than my house and room had to be the cleanest i have ever stayed in. Will reccomend this hotel to everyone

Room Tip: the beds are so comfortable and rooms are super clean

Stayed for four nights. Buffet OK. Beds fine except the comforter was very unpractical. The sheets kept sliding off. We paid an substantial amount extra to get a balcony. We got one, but there was no furniture there. Not much point in a balcony if you can't sit there. When we asked to have some chairs we were refused. Apparently they were afraid we'd throw the chairs of the balcony. Strangely enough our room did not have a table either. Apparently we needed an upgrade for that.

It troubles me hear that the hotel did not live up to your expectations in regards to the balcony furniture. Unfortunately, the Australian law does not permit us to put tables and chairs on balconies due to safety issues.

I visited with my partner for a couple of nights at this hotel. The room was a reasonable size but our overall stay was made by the service we received. every time we were passing through the lobby we were acknowledged with big smiling faces and they were very informative helping us find cute places to eat and drink and we completed the bondi to coogee walk also recommender by one of the girls. Overall a great stay and will stay again!!

Book-in started off poorly, not enough staff, they were doing their best and were polite and helpful though. Initial reaction to room was ok, 3 single beds, ok that's what we booked as it was the only option for 3 people, fair enough. Level 3 room 19. If. You have a choice ask not for level 2 or 3 as they all look out onto the fully inclosed pool, that may sound ok but the echo of anyone speaking, let alone returning late at night in high spirits is almost deafening, that's from inside your closed room!
Beds were comfortable. I personally like a dark room so found it a little hard as the only windows were onto the pool area so lit all night, window covering doesn't block all the light, that's ok if it doesn't bother you. Not all the bedside lights worked and we couldnt get the air con to work, the lowest temp seemed to be 18 degrees, for us that is heating, we wanted cool air.
No windows in the bathroom, not uncommon, seemed clean enough untill I had a shower the next morning, ewww, other people's hair is a put off, a shower curtain, not too clean and water pressure very low. Oh and the whole bathroom seems to have had a 'renovation', this consisted of painting every surface with white gloss paint! Not very well painted either.
Basic coffee and tea facilities, no biscuits. All in all I'm glad I booked this using flyby points and didn't actually pay for the room as such. I did a bit of a search and think the room would have been about $230-$250 so given that I would say really poor value. Also the parking is $26 night and a very hair raising event getting in and out.
I won't be back.

My partner and I stated here in September and have been amazed at how efficient and friendly the reception staff are. The rooms are a great size and offer all the mod cons with IPod docking station and the tv has foxtel. We had a meal through room service as restaurant was not opened yet and it was good. The food arrived 30mons after we had ordered it and it was hot.
We will be back next month as coming up to see legally blond and hotel is not that far away from
