The Darling Harbour Holiday Inn was great It was clean, Mcdonalds across the street, tons of Asian restraunts and was within walking distance of Paddy's markerts. Get the week pass for the light rail and monorail.($28 AUD) This allows one see most everything without exhaustive walking. Also you can ride to the Cental station and take the normal subway type trains to the Circular Quay and the Rocks or anywhere in Sydney. We got a good hotel room for a very reasonable price. Internet is very expensive in Australia in general. I am use to free high speed internet included in the room price. It was a whopping 55 cents a minute at the hotel. I asked around and found you could rent high speed wireless modems from Wiredsky. This was still expensive at $90 for 7 days but beats the hotels 55 cents a minute by far. You can get on the monorail at Paddys and ride to Victoria's Market and walk to Wired Sky. We really enjoyed our stay and defintely recommend Holiday Inn Darling Harbour.

Thank you,

Don L.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April 2006 and found it to be a convenient location, good value, clean, comfortable hotel. I would probably class the location as China town, not Darling Harbour but it's only about a 5 min walk to all the bars and restaurants of Darling Harbour and the monorail station is practically right outside to get you around the city. For the money, I would deffinately reccomend this hotel, the service was good, our safe didn't work when we arrived but they sent someone immediately to fix it. Sydney is now one of my favourite citys in the world and I would stay here again without a doubt.

Just returned from a 5 day stay. Hotel is centrally located, with most major attractions within reasonable walking distance. Having the Sydney Explorer bus stop across the road was a bonus.

The rooms were of a good size and were clean and the beds comfortable. We paid $171/ night including buffet breakfast for 2 people.

Couple of minor crticism's, would have liked a change to the buffet breakfast selections. The only variety was they alternated daily between baked beans and spaghetti to go with the bacon, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes and scrambled eggs. The other annoyance was the noisy juice extractor people were using to make fresh fruit juices.

We ate a couple of times in JB'S bar and grill, the food was well cooked and reasonably priced. Not many people appeared to use the main restaurant in the evenings.

We would definitely stay here again

Stayed two nights upon arrival in Sydney from Canada. Got to the hotel at about 9:30 am and were given access to our room early which was lovely after a 17 flight! Good room - great shower, try and ask not to stay on the street side as the monorail starts at about 6am. Nice staff, clean room - was a good stay. Hay Market is not open Monday-Wednesday so the value of the location does decrease slightly if you are staying those days. Highly recommend the Thai massage clinic around the corner on Hay!
