Cyren appears to be a flashy hotspot for the young and trendy - I don't think it quite does what it says on the tin, but is arguably more enjoyable for not being as slick and cool as it thinks it is!
I visited twice, once in May and once in June, the May visit is the one I am really writing about as 'Happy Hour' at Cyren is the time to visit - weekdays from 3-6pm (check their website but seem to remember that being correct). During this time, there is a whole host of cocktails, beers and other beverages on offer at really great prices - particularly for Darling Harbour. The food during this time though is what really seals the deal, a mix of pub grub (pizzas and fries) and seafood - we had two types of calimari - at really reasonable prices makes Cyren worth a visit.
Sitting outside under a heated lamp in Darling Harbour, with Pizza and beers (or a strawberry daiquiri if it tickles your fancy) enjoying the view is about as good as it gets on a nice day and that's what Cyren offers. The service outside is nothing to write home about, but it's not bad either - they just kind of get on with things (no complaints really but maybe a bit more interaction could pay some dividends)... in at the bar though the staff seem to be a bit more patient and are happy to make recommendations.
At night Cyren becomes a different animal, very expensive like the rest of the Harbour and is perhaps eclipsed by some of it's neighbours in terms of service and overall food quality but it's definitely worth a go.
