Lunched with friends who all thoroughly enjoyed the food & wine. Waiter was very knowledgable of both. Wine a bit pricey.

This is a top-tier restaurant hidden in a corner of Sydney's CBD. The menu offers a wide selection of creative dishes with a slight emphasis towards seafood. Dishes are perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. As with many restaurants, the appetizers are more impressive than the actual entrees (I recommend the scallops appetizer). Do not skip dessert, as the options are very creative and put together wonderfully. There's a reasonable wine list with prices to be expected for this caliber of restaurant. Service can be slightly slow between dishes but very friendly. The restaurant atmosphere is lively but not noisy to prohibit a conversation. Make a reservation early since weekend times can be tough to find. Don't expect the meal to be cheap but it's well worth it.

Had heard so much about this new restaurant and from the very first second, we could see why there was so much hype.
The restaurant itself is elegant but not ostentatious and over the top - you feel comfortable and relaxed.
The staff look after you from the first seconds with professional attention but again, not overdone.
We didn't choose an entree but rather selected the wild kingfish to share as a starter - the team saw that we were going to share 3 different dishes and split the plates and served them individually - very professional and aware of diners' needs without propmting.
The kingfish with mushroom is a wonderful dish but so too were the smoked duck and the slow cooked lamb - no problem with the lamb as another reviewer has suggested.
Clearly the smoking technique is a feature of the restaurant but I appreciated the differences between each dish and the competence and subtleties of each.
A very confident but yet understated approach to the food.

the Bridge Room is easy to walk past on a busy corner of Bridge Street and hiding in a space occupied by a very different style of restaurant for many years.
The menu is short but offers some really interesting options with a good selection of wines by the glass..in the new world of shorter business lunches, this is a must!
We both chose the Calamari starter and it was testament to the deliscous sauce that two extra helpings of bread were consumed to mop it up!
Both the duck and swordfish were memorable and the "winter vegetables" much more interesting than most selections.
Definitely now on our City Lunch List.
