“Chilled, cheap, easy - don't expect anything more”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

Yeah cool little place, nice easy westernised mexican at the right end of Bondi Beach. Servings will fill you but not leave you wheelbarrowing your stomach over Campbell Pde. It does get LOUD indoors so try and time your visit where sitting outside will be comfortable. Would be nice if they didn't charge like bulls for the beer but hey, you only need one with Mex or you tend to feel bloated.

Don't come here expecting a WOW, just take it easy, relax, and go with it and you'll have a good time and enjoy the food.

“Great food, great atmosphere, large portions and decent prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

We went to the Beach Burrito Company in Coogee beach, about 3 times during our one week visit to Sydney. Sydney in general seemed quite expensive to us Kiwis, so it was nice to find a place that wasn't overly expensive, and still had great food. We had fish and chilli con carne burritos, and both were great. Service was fast and friendly. The iced virgin margaritas(ie. frozen lemonade) were a hit with the kids.

The atmosphere was great too, lots of decorations, Mexican candles and good music playing.

“Nice decor/atmosphere, shame the food/presentation doesn't match.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

(Newtown Location)

Don't expect too much from Beach Burrito Newtown, it is more a low-budget student diner dressed up in a cool Mexican costume.

We liked the location and "feel" of this place. The staff were friendly. Everything about this place was so promising, until the food arrives... served in plastic baskets lined with paper, I guess to save on dish washing? For a "diner/bar" type place, we don't expect silver service, but this was a bit too lazy. I assume being a chain, this is standard for these guys, but why not lift things a touch? If the food was amazing, this could be forgiven, but unfortunately... it was bland, boring, tasteless, unimaginatively presentated... I think the best way to describe it is "Mexican food night" at the state medium security prison.

The nachos were just corn chips, cheese, and a "slop" of chilli mince meat; the burrito was not too bad (the puller steak was good), but again so so bland; and the other thing wasn't even what we ordered... but could not be bothered following it up.

Smiles from the staff and a nice atmosphere saved this from being a complete write-off.

The location and decor will keep Beach Burrito going, very lucky for the owners!

Go to Gomez y Guzman, ten mins walk down the road, they NAIL the food, 1000x tastier, and don't promise anything they can't deliver.

“What's the fuss?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Stodgy and doey burrito's, what;s the fuss about?? Unfortunately i'm yet to have decent Mexican anywhere in Sydney and this continued the trend. May be ok to soak up an alcohol fueled session apre Ravesi's or the Bondi Hotel, but that's about it.

“Huge portions!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

Our Sydney friends took us here on evening, and it was delicious. We ordered a massive taco bowl filled with chicken, and a huge burrito. The burrito wasn't as hot as it could have been but the staff immediately prepared a fresh one when we told them. It was an ideal place to eat and chat.
