I felt the need to write a review as the good I really good and the bad, well it needs to be mentioned....
The good: Beautiful Hotel, great location to the Casino and Darling Harbour. WE got an upgrade to the adored due to our situation which was lovely, we even got a devine fruit platter delivered. The adored suite is simply stunning. Interesting that the mini bar has a 30 second rule if you hold it for 30 seconds you pay for it rule and its monitored electronically. Quite funny really.

The not so good
1. The mini bar has no prices, so we found out later a msall box of choccys cost a $16
2.The light switches have a blue light on them after trning off, so in the night these bright blue lights catch your eye and really annoyed me and made sleeping hard.
3. The walls have a cracking sound not sure if was the air con or the lights cooling down or god knows what but as you try to sleep, its like a dripping tap but worse:(
4. The worst was that at midnight we had a butler come into our room as we were sleeping through our lounge and ito our bedroom, turning on all the lights saying" Pillows, did you want pillows" I advised I was asleep and no I did not need pillows, so this ruined my night sleep and annoyed me grately. (We got our room service bill of $140 waived due to this) which was very nice.
5.We were in a smoking room, but there are no windows or balcony and it makes it very stuffy, we don't normally smoke inside or very much generally so this was a bit yuk really.... our fault I guess being smokers.

Overall it was a very nice place and the fact that they are happy to deal with issues and compensate was nice.
We would stay there again as it was just heaven :)

The darling has to be one of sydneys best hotels. State of the art technology which is far advanced for australia and one the most beautiful lobbies. Sokyo which is the darlings restaraunt offered amazing japanese food with a touch of class. The staff were friendly however roomservice was a little hit and miss. They didnt seem to know the menu very well. The room was incredible with a bathtub overlooking the city.Stela at reception was a star. Nothing was to hard. This service is hard to find in Sydney. Each time I was in the lobby she would greet me by name, I like the personal touch. Pool side service did seem all abit to complicated but the pool itself will do just fine:)

Dear Adambrice,

We are thrilled by your amazing review! Thank you so much for being as excited about The Darling Hotel, as we are.

Sokyo is definitely one of our gems; offering Sydney’s very best modern Japanese Cuisine, by an award winning chef, in a buzzing and lively atmosphere.

Stela, along with every one of our Darlings, is thrilled you experienced the personalised service we strive to achieve.

We cannot wait to look after you again in the future!

Until we meet again…

We had a wonderful stay at The Darling in Sydney. The place is beautiful, comfortable beds, friendly helpful staff and just a short walk from Darling Harbour. Lots of features, including the ability to 'manage' your room from your TV remote. Shower was great with a wall and overhead jets. Two suggestions I'd make are upgrade the ironing board - a definite 2 star hotel ironing board there! And also it would have been helpful to have a brochure on the rest of the facilities which make up part of the whole complex, The Star, Casino, shops and restaurants. We couldn't quite get our head around what was where and a brochure/map would have been fantastic. An overall recommended place for a luxury stay.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The location was perfect, just a short walk away from all the Darling Harbour restaurants and shopping. We took a lunch cruise and we were able to walk to/from the dock. The hotel is immaculate and modern. The staff is so wonderfully friendly and helpful. They assisted us in confirming all our travel bookings, changing our US dollars for Australian Dollars, and giving us directions. Also, the hotel is attached to the recently renovated Star Casino, which meant more dining options and entertainment. The only recommendation would be to have complimentary tea, coffee, and cookies downstairs in the lobby. It's a short walk to local cafés, but when we were in a rush to catch early morning tours and flights; it would have been nice to e able to grab a "To Go" cup of coffee. Also, the wifi is a bit overpriced at $24.95 per night.

Dear Heidi S,

Thank you so much for your generous review!

Perhaps on your next stay you may choose to try Antidote, located at the doorstep of the hotel, offering an array of coffee brews and on the go croissants and other sweet bites; a locals favourite. We are also looking at several options to cater for early morning coffee options for those who are not able to take advantage of a sleep in on one of our amazingly comfortable Darling beds.

Our team is so pleased you experienced their lovely service, and look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future.

Until we meet again…

Booked through otels.com (they are based in Istanbul and payment is in $US), and got a good deal in a week when there were no deals to be had in Sydney.
Welcome from valet parking and reception was excellent. The style is very modern with high tech features in the room e.g. you can programme a wake-up with the TV remote control and at the appointed hour, electric curtains will open, lights will switch on, etc etc - it's a bit of a rude awakening when you're not expecting it.
The bathroom (toilet, wash sinks, shower) is in 3 separate places and this took a little getting used to.
The best part was the bed - it was So comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was in the casino, Garden Buffet, and quite frankly not worth bothering with.
Excellent location to access Sydney Fish market by foot.
I think this is probably a hotel for the young 'uns but it was definitely a unique and different experience.

Dear Findarainbow,

There is nothing like a Darling Bed, a bed designed to deliver the most comfortable sleep. We are so glad you enjoyed it. For your next stay you may choose to enjoy our in room dining experience for a beautiful breakfast in bed, or even Antidote for that perfect coffee fix.

Apart from all the details which make this hotel one of a kind, it is our lovely Darling team that really deliver the experience. On behalf of everyone here we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Until we meet again…

If you are unfamiliar with Sydney, this hotel is in Darling Harbor which is a bridge walk away from the hustle and bustle of George st/Pitt st/Circular quay (opera house). This, however, is not a short coming. Darling harbor has its own charm and is a more tranquil area with a good selection of cafes and restauraunts. The hotel itself is on the same site as the Star Casino so EVERY taxi knows where to take you when and if you get lost around town. Plus being situated next to a casino you have a plethora of late eats, and good quality restauraunts right down stairs.
The Room was very nice, very clean. Great bath products, high tech systems (such as curtains) However the TV was too high tech, it took a tech savi person roughly around 5 minutes just to put the news on. The hotel staff were very polite and accomidating, even offering umbrellas for the rain. Our main problem was the wifi. Not only do they charge 25/night for wifi it was unreliable and very slow. As a foreigner we highly rely on internet so this was not so good. I wouldnt complain if it was free but to charge us 25 a day, which according to our aussie friend, is what some households pay a month, you would expect better.
Everything else about this hotel was amazing, and despite its miniature flaws, I would easily return.

Dear rnevarez562,

Thank you for telling us about your recent stay at The Darling.

Darling Harbour and the Pyrmont area definitely have a charm of their own, from shopping, to restaurants and bars. Being only minutes from the city, our location is ideal for anyone who likes to be close to the action.

The Star is one of Sydney’s largest iconic entertainment hubs, where you can find everything from the Casino, to signature restaurants and a world renowned night club.

We are glad you will return despite your experience with the Wi-Fi. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay!

Until we meet again…
