i went there as part of a large group, and the staff was very friendly even though we had a lot of kids along. the meal choices were so delicious, and the interesting museum-like exhibits with these great rock and roll artifacts were so fun! the music, although not completely my style, still got our entire group jamming along. combined with the great food, hard rock cafe is a great place to go!

Dear Billy Bob,
thank you for taking the time to post this awesome review of Hard Rock cafe Sydney. We are delighted to know that the team took care of you, and that you loved our collection of Memorabilia. Something many people seem to overlook when visiting us, due to the amazing views of Darling Harbour. We can not wait for your next visit and genuinely hope to see you again soon!

At first it looked promising... but after we ordered we waited more than 30 mins for our food. When I asked the waitress she said that they are busy and it will take a while (the restaurant was half empty for God's sake...). At last the food came, but no drink... apparantly they did not write my drink order. The "icing on the crap cake" was when I asked for some mayo and bbq sauce and saw they actually charged me $6 for that!!!! Bad and slow service, average food and very pricey. Wouldn't recommend at all!

Dear Amiel S,
thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience, and we are sorry to learn that it was not up to expectation. We will definitely investigate the slow and poor service you received so as to ensure on your next visit we can give you the proper Hard Rock experience. Unfortunately, it is a standard across all Hard Rocks to charge for extras, as you can imagine, the amount of extras requested adds up, and thus is a standard to charge for them, though given the circumstances of your visit, we absolutely could have made more of an effort to ensure you enjoyed your time with us, and will do so on your next visit to Hard Rock Cafe Sydney.

Rocking Regards

During our Christmas vacation to Sydney, we decided to try the Hard Rock Cafe. We know it’s very touristy, but usually we buy a pint glass when we go to a city that has one. We also know that it’s best to try Local cuisine when you’re visiting a new country, but, we found ourselves in an Airbnb nearby and stopped in. My son and I shared the Texan. A large beef patty with barbecue sauce, jalapeños and fried onion straws. It was amazing! The burger was thick, juicy and beefy, and perfectly cooked. It was so good, we went back another time. This time, my daughter and I shared the chicken fajitas. I have to say I haven’t had fajitas this good in close to 20 years. The plate with lettuce, sour cream, pico de Gallo, and cheese or “setup” as we called it in the restaurant business, was fresh, with enough to make it through all of our fajitas. The sour cream was the freshest and creamiest I’ve ever had. I was disappointed that our go-to, non-alcoholic mocktail “mango tango” wasn’t made with yellow Red Bull, but with the original flavor instead, but I’m sure that’s just due to distribution issues in this part of the world. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good, it wasn’t busy at lunch, but had a good crowd at dinner. The service was also really good and the host staff was really friendly. Overall I highly recommend this location!

Dear Katheryn F,
thank you for taking the time to rock our world with this outstanding review. It is feedback like this that keeps the team rocking and a rollin' and thus we will be sharing it with all. In the meantime, its so great that you found our food to be so fresh and delicious as we source the freshest products possible on a daily basis and its amazing that this is reflected in our taste profile. Our Mango Tango is made with the "standard" redbull available in Australia, and we are sorry this was the one disappointment of the entire 2 visits. Did you end up visiting our Rock Shop and getting the pint glass? If not, we are always here for the next time you visit and looking to make the trip a special one!

Rocking Regards

We booked early January while on holiday in Sydney. We were staying in Darling Harbour so it was with some excitement we learned of HRC within 2mins walk from our hotel... What an evening we had... just... not in the good way!
We arrived at 6pm. It looked busy... of course it's busy - it's HRC! We were given a buzzer disc and told a table would be no more than 1/2 an hour... furthermore we were told the buzzer has the range to work in the entire mall that HRC is in... even better - something to do to fill in the time!
We arrived back to HRC after looking around the mall for a while. Well before the buzzer was due to go off. We sat in the bar area and waited... and waited... After an hour (now 7pm) we went back to the desk to ask... The person checked their list on a mobile device (iPad?) and confirmed we were still on it... another 15 mins. We waited... and waited... At 8pm we asked again and the person was rather offhand and said the issue wasn't tables... the kitchen was apparently short-staffed and over-run and they were holding off new customers to let the kitchen catch up... again promised no more than 10 mins. We were finally seated at 8:30pm after waiting 2.5 hours. At 9pm, sitting at the table having not had any actual service yet we were about to get up and walk out. A wait person finally arrived. No apologies and had the look of a frustrated worker with no real passion for hospitality... definitely just a job for this person. We ordered and again waited... and waited... Our food arrived at 10:30pm which is now 4.5 hours after first entering and about 1.5 hours after ordering.
The food was very average indeed - not the quality of other Hard Rock Cafe's we have visited.
The final insult came at the end. We got up to pay and were told very rudely NO! - we had to sit back down and the waiter would bring over the bill and a EFTPOS machine to use to pay with our credit card. Arghhh... Another 20 minutes went by and we got up and started to walk away again to complain to the front desk. This was now close to 11pm and we were completely over the place. The waiter met us halfway and made us sit down a SECOND TIME and had the machine ready. After all of this the machine had been pre-prepared with a tip. On the screen was a YES or NO option. To get to pay we needed to confirm if we were tipping. I pushed no and received a VERY RUDE "well, thanks for nothing" from the waiter. You have to be jolly kidding me??? After a 5 hour horrible experience, the WORST ever restaurant service I've ever had in my entire 50yr life... the waiter was rude to us for not saying yes to a tip on the machine? And this is Australia for heavens sake... like my own country of New Zealand... there's no tipping culture!!!

I can only hope that international franchise managers read this. There needs to be some serious questions asked about the ongoing viability of this place. It is NOT a real Hard Rock Cafe with such appalling service. It needs a new owner or manager. Urgently.

DO NOT GO HERE....

Dear H_Wells,
thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience at Hard Rock Cafe Sydney, and please, as the new manager, allow me to apologize for the situation you endured. Unfortunately, we do experience wait lists when we are busy, however, your experience is not at all the standard. We will be investigating the series of events that led to such a poor performance from all our team, and retraining or rectifying as needs be.
I can assure you that he feedback is read by many senior executives, and is taken very seriously, so as to make sure no one else has anything remotely resembling your experience.
That said, the service team have no choice when presenting the "card machine" as it automatically comes up with the "tip" option, and it was not at all a requirement of you to tip, nor your server to gain a gratuity. If you are ever in the area again, please drop us a line as we would love the opportunity to show you the real spirit of Hard Rock.

We have been to HRC's all over the world, we booked a table for 2 for new years eve in Sydney's Darling Harbour. We had been looking forward to this for some time. The cost for the two of us was £196, this included a meal and drinks until 9pm.
On arrival everyone was given a wrist band, we weren't given one, I asked should we have one, the waiter said yes sorry and went and got me one. We then had to wait about 45 minutes for a drink. Our starters of potato skins were cold. We didn't have any cutlery and had to ask for some. Main courses were been given to people that hadn't finished their starters. Drinks were being given to the wrong people - it was chaos!
We went to the HRC because we love rock music, rock music was not been played, Boyzone!! Really!! We left just after 8pm. We were at the HRC in Surfers Paradise on Christmas Eve, this was much busier, but a million times more organised and much more enjoyable. This has got to be the worst HRC we have ever been to.
