If this was a review of the bar it would get a five. Easy. We love it here. Great ambience, wonderful staff, enjoyable drinks list, and a fantastic Sunday night jazz band.
Now that's not to say the restaurant is bad, far from it. You get all of the above and a pretty good menu.
I had the crispy chicken and it was good, my partner had the pork belly and it too was good. Good, but not amazing. It's hearty and tasty though.
The table was pretty small and a little tricky to eat off and it was difficult to accommodate our drinks, wine bottle, and plates.
We were still hungry after our mains (not Low's fault, we hadn't eaten all day and hadn't ordered a starter) so we ordered the liver parfait. This didn't show up so we had to re-order and just plumped for bread. This was nice though, with an olive oil and balsamic dip.
As a bar this place is very hard to beat and if you want a bar and to eat then it is even harder. But if you just want a top restaurant? Probably better places in Surry Hills. Go there, but make sure you come here afterwards.
