Owner description: It's not only a wine tour, but a wildlife, chocolate, cheese and beer tour! A day trip from Sydney, try some amazing wines at small picturesque boutique wineries, as well as visit a chocolate factory, taste some local cheeses and visit a brewery. Our morning tea with kangaroos, koalas and other native animals is a very special experience too with sightseeing in the beautiful Hunter Valley countryside. Private tours are also a specialty for families and/or friends. Join us! Would love to have you along. Sydney city tours are also available.

Great trip - reviews below say it all. We handled a python, got up close with 'roos and emus and photographed Koala's and Wallaby's. Chocolate tasting was little more than a trip to a chocolate shop (imported from Belgium) and Cheese tasting - nothing more than you can do in a supermarket - but the wine tasting was very good and plentiful. Importantly, Sam works hard to make sure everyone enjoys the day. We even forgive him the cheesy music! If you are a hardened wine connoisseur this tour isn't for you - everyone else, from 7 to 70, will have a lot of fun. It does take a full day - 8am - 6.pm and you buy your own lunch but Sam has menus so you can order ahead.

Sam takes you on a tour which consists of visits to an animal park, several boutique wineries, a chocolate factory, a cheese factory, and a brewery! Wow! It was never a dull moment, and Sam made it as fun as possible as you are making the long drive to the Hunter Valley region. I would highly recommend this tour.

This day definitely stands out from our three week vacation in Australia as one of the highlights of the trip. Starting from the timely pickup, to the comfortable ride, to the first attraction of the day: a small zoo where the animals are free to roam around and you can pet a kangaroo or an emu and play with a koala, a special treat just for this group. After this amazing break, where by the way coffee and snacks were provided, we continued the journey to the wine country. The second stop was to a small chocolate shop and if you're in the mood for something sweet before the wine tasting, this is the perfect stop. Afterward we went to a small vineyard and tried at least 10 different bottles of wine. The setting was great, we were sitting in a small garden overlooking the grape vines and enjoying the host's description of different wines he was happily sharing with us. The sparkling wines at this particular vineyard were great and a few of us pulled together and bought a case, reducing the already very reasonable price even lower. Sam , the tour organizer pre-ordered lunch and we continued on to the cheese shop/ restaurant where we enjoyed special treats on the house and a leisurely lunch. The second vineyard was also very cool but at that point we were pretty buzzed. The last stop was at a bruery and was also highly welcomed by the group. The trip was truly amazing and Sam does a great job to organize the group, entertaining everyone and making things very interesting. If you are a wine lover or enjoy a nice day in the wine country with great company, definitely take this tour!

We just returned to Santa Barbara after a 3 week holiday in Australia and New Zealand. The Kangarrific Hunter Valley Wine Tour was hands down the best of the 10 or so tours we took. Sam was terrific and knows a great deal about wine and makes the whole experience enjoyable even for non wine-snobs. The kangaroos and koalas were an added bonus and my wife wishes she could have brought the koala back to Santa Barbara.

My wife and I went on the Kangarrific Hunter Valley Wine tour at the end of November 2011. Sam, our tour guide was really fun and very knowledgeable about the region and the vineyards. We went to a wildlife park to hang out with some emu, koalas and kangaroos, then to a chocolate and fudge shop for a tasting, two great local vineyards, a specialty food store for a cheese tasting and also a brewery. Sam really made the trip fun and we would DEFINITELY recommend this trip to anyone who wants to enjoy the wine some Hunter Valley wine.
