Description: Nestled in Sydney's Ash Street laneway, this elegant bistro’s classic French fare is perfectly matched by an extensive wine list. Felix is affectionately designed as a romantic homage to the quintessential French brasserie. Diners are charmed by its many authentic touches; like walls featuring real Parisian subway tiles, imported French chandeliers, a beautiful pewter bar and food delivered by waiters in traditional long-aprons.

“chic & slick”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Sydney taxi drivers don't believe there's an Ash Street because you can't drive down it, so ask them to drop you at Angel Place and George Street. This small block has been stunningly renovated by the John & Merivale group who seem to have spent money without regard to a commercial return. It would have been easy to build a highrise office block here, but instead they've created a nightlife hub that revolves around the bistros and restaurants in Ash Street and the nightclub and bars of Ivy upstairs. Bistro Felix could be in Manhattan's SoHo, Paris' Pigalle, Shanghai's Bund or Milano's Galleria - and it would be just as successful and popular. The wine list and service was great, the food was remarkably varied for a bistro and of top quality, it was pricey but not outrageous, and the location and ambience are fabulous. Well worth it for people watching and a chance for ladies to dress up - or not, it's up to you.

“Pretty good allrounder”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

You must really book for this little gem, it gets popular, particularly on Fridays. A bustling typical French style bistro with a list of excellent standard dishes and the odd special. The pate, when available is very, very good as is the fresh seafood bar of oysters, scallops, prawns etc. An unbelievable wine list adds to the popularity and not too expensive considering the quality, service and location. It does get noisy so not perfect for a Business lunch to close that deal.

“Poor service almost ruined an otherwise fantastic dinner”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

I dined here on Friday evening with my husband and a girlfriend. We all thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meals and the ambience of this lovely restaurant. Whilst the service was fine to begin with, it ground to an agonisingly slow pace as we waited for our coffees at the end of the meal and then finally our bill. I also noticed that the two tables of diners closest to ours were also experiencing the same problem with one woman getting up from her table to walk over to the waitress that was looking after our three tables to tell her that they were leaving. I also noticed that the female diner at the other table looked fed up with the waiting as she discretely waved her credit at the waitress to let her know that she too was ready to settle up and leave. What could have been an amazing evening was let down by the inattentive service.

“One of the best meals ever!”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

i had one of the best meals that i had ever had when we met another couple here for dinner. The entree was a lamb dish and it was great. The rest of us enjoyed as well. It was a bit loud and crowed but it is a bistro so that is what to expect.
