“Really?”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

Based on the glowing reviews, we headed straight to The Fine Food Store for our first meal in Sydney (lunch). While it was convenient to our hotel (Sydney Park Hyatt), I was taken back when we first walked in as it was nothing like what I expected. What I found was a cramped cafe with a few tables and a counter with chairs along a window that faced the back of other buildings.

Most of the tables were dirty with used plates and glasses still on them from previous guests. The servers only bring the food out to you as you need to place your order at the register. Sandwiches were fine but certainly nothing to write home about. While not horrible, this was by far the worst place we dined at during our entire stay in Sydney, no, make that during our entire stay in Australia.

Had I just happened to come upon The Fine Food Store by accident, not knowing the reviews posted on Tripadvisor, I would have definitely just passed it by. I suggest you do the same. There are simply too many better options than to waste your time (and money), here.

“Cute cafe, reasonable prices”
Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

We only stopped here for a drink which was reasonably priced with friendly service. I would definitely go back to try the food as the menu looked tempting and the atmosphere was good. They also had free wi-fi which is good to know.

“Quiet, good food and friendly service”

We had a very relaxing, and quiet lunch at this lovely coffee/breakfast/lunch cafe. Food was good and service friendly. Great place to rest your weary feet and have an enjoyable lunch off the main streets.

“An excellent place to eat or takeaway”
Reviewed January 28, 2013 via mobile

This food store/ small restaurant is a great place to eat. Menu is varied - great poached eggs, my favourite, can be eaten with a variety of extras; wraps; salads are excellent and make great takeaway meals etc. while in Sydney ate here most days. Excellent value for money. Only down side - it can be a bit noisy and sometimes difficult to get a table, but, worth the wait.
