We did this tour about two weeks ago. Max was a great tour guide. His stories fit well with the tour. I would highly recommend this tour. The tour had a nice variety of activities including the reptile park, cheese tasting, wine (of course), lunch and chocolates.

We went on the Blue Mountain Eco Tour with Johnny, and the Hunter Valley Wine Tour with Max. Both were full days with interesting stops. The small groups made it easier to get around and cover more stops. The meals were better than expected. We tasted some great wines also. Both tour guides were very good and kept the day interesting. They both deserve a case of beer.

We pre-booked this tour in England through our travel agent. The hotel pick up was right on time and the minibus was modern, comfortable and made easy work of the long steep climbs into the mountains. Our first stop was at the Featherdale Wildlife Park where we were able to stroke koalas, feed the wallabies which scampered around our feet, and we met a variety of Australian wildlife up close. Our guide and driver Johnny, had a wealth of local knowledge which he shared with us as we drove on towards the mountains, stopping for fresh apple pie and coffee en route. He introduced us to some of the native trees and shrubs of the Blue Mountain area and stopped at some scenic points to allow us to absorb the breathtaking scenery. A very pleasant lunch was already pre-booked for us at a local Golf Club, so no time was lost and we were soon off to the Aboriginal Centre where we gained an insight into Aboriginal hunting techniques and tools, dancing and had an opportunity to purchase artworks.
Johnny encouraged punctuality but we were not rushed as we then drove on to Scenic World Attractions - steep railway and cable car rides (optional and at an extra cost of AUS$25 but well worth the views). We were fortunate to experience a warm spring day (5th Sept 2012). On the drive back to Sydney, Johnny shared with us more of his local knowledge and also his extensive broader life's experiences in Australia.

Thanks to Eco adventures and Lindsay, a hilarious and knowledgable guide, my wife of one week and I had an amazing sunny Sunday tasting cheeses, wines, and chocolates throughout the Hunter Valley. Lindsay has some great contacts at the wineries; we were treated like VIPs throughout the day, which started with 'roo feeding and koala petting (it was a bit early for wine, but not too early for coffee/tea). After hitting the first vineyard, and getting a healthy sampling of their whites and reds (and even their port), we headed to the next stop for a fantastic lunch complimented by four distinct wines. Here we had the option to taste more wines and beers before heading to our final vineyard. That last stop would be another winner.

Lindsay got to know us each so well and really puts great pride into his work. You can tell that he, as well as the wine stewards are passionate about their jobs; I have been fortunate to see this a lot in this fine country, but Lindsay was the best.

We tasted fantastic wines in Hunter Valley on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Lindsay our tour guide and all the wine stewards were so passionate about their job.
Thanks a lot for a wonderful day - we not only got in touch with world class Semmilions but also learned a lot about the countryside and its' history.
