We ordered the special of the day Egg Cocotte and this was lovely the service was ok it seemed that they were a little short staffed in certain areas. There was only one girl who was both waitress and cashier that morning and it made her job looking after tables outside and watching inside a little difficult I think. Coffee average and a bit on the small side not the best that I have tasted. Outside areas could do with a bit of a spruce up looking a bit tired and tatty. Be careful when doing shabby chic as sometimes it looks well done and other times it looks just plain shabby, which was the case. Price reasonable as the food was delicious can not say anything about the pastries as we did not indulge. The location is fantastic a good find for a nice touch of France in The Rocks.

We arrived at 14:40 and even if the kitchen closed at 15:00 they did not want to serve us any food.
We ordered some beers which were very good, although it took five minutes for them to give us the bill after we ordered our drinks. We felt we were kicked out.

17.11.13: As Baroque was directly outside our Hotel, we wandered across as we had noticed people having breakfast outside, and stayed to have our breakfast. Poached Eggs with ham on sourdough toast - fabulous. Anyway, we determined to return for our evening meal.
We generally eat quite early, and we arrived on a Friday evening at about 7pm. Sadly we were told that they couldn't let us have a table as they were fully booked. When I mentioned that we had enjoyed our breakfast so much that morning, the maitr'd asked us to wait a moment. On his return we had a table for two.
The decor is shabby/chic with scrubbed tables, plain walls, and the bakery in the corner and a nearly open kitchen. The menu is not huge but there is plenty of choice for all and willingness to make small changes to suit individual tastes.
We both had the lamb loin which was cooked to perfection, and the accompanyments were all equally well cooked and presented. The creme brullee was the best I have ever had.
A wonderful experience.

Called in for coffee during the day and looked at the bistro menu so decided to book for an evening meal.
The menu at night was totally different and more expensive but we had an excellent meal in a slightly formal atmosphere and not really a bistro meal it was a proper restaurant meal.
We would return.

Visited Baroque Pantry for pre Christmas lunch with work friends.
Nice spot in The Rocks at Sydney
Food is pretty good but desserts are amazing!
Good service too.
Very windy day when we visited and were unfortunately seated outside.
Some of my salad blew off my plate when the waiter set it down!
Also a huge group was standing around drinking outside right next to where we were seated which spoiled the atmosphere somewhat as they were pretty noisy and beer bottles were blowing off the servery table a couple of times and crashing onto the cement floor right next to us.
I recommend asking to be moved if it is windy.
Nice view across Sydney Harbour all the same.
I made a complaint to the manager who was able to move us and offered complementary desserts and beverages to compensate for the earlier uncomfortable seating arrangement.
I would re visit.
