This was actually cheaper than a lot of hostels in Syndey.
The staff were friendly and let us store our luggage for free on our leaving day. The bar felt like a local, and didn't affect our sleep at all.
Very clean and comfy beds.

My partner and I stayed here last weekend for our anniversary. We got the executive room for just $169 per night which is significantly cheaper than any other hotel in the city. The room was large, clean and had a lovely Elizabethan feel to it. It had beautiful hygenic marble bathrooms. My partner was worried that there would be noise all nice as it was above a busy pub on a saturday night but the sound proofing of the room was incredible, could only hear a slight bass of music.
This hotel was close to the popular Jazushi restaurant (Highly reccommended also) where we had dinner. The hotel allowed us a free late check out. The only downside is that it's street meter parking so you have to check every 4 hours (Not after 10pm but there are parking inspectors everywhere). And try to check in before 5-6pm which is when the pub downstairs is busy and it's hard to check in.
All in all a perfect spot just outside the chaos of the city. Would absolutely stay again.

It was a large old style room with a modern bathroom which is hard to findnin Sydney. Unfortunately that is where the highlights ended. I found long black hair in my bed and my bedspread had what I can only hope was chocolate on the cover! The hotel is above a pub on a main road and is directly across the street from 2 more pubs. If your in Sydney to party then this is your place.

We used this hotel for the night before we left to fly home. The staff were friendly and helpful. They let us check in early. The room was clean and spacious. When you book a hotel based on price you take what you get but we were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel met all our needs. Our friends checked in late and we were able to go to the pub/bistro downstairs and enjoy some excellent food. In the morning, staff recommended we take a taxi to the airport as it would be cheaper than four of us taking the train. He called them to ensure they would send one large enough to take all our luggage.

If we were to travel to Sydney and have to stay several days, we would definitely book into this hotel. It's walking distance to the points of interest but it is also close to all transportation. A gem.

We stayed at the Royal Exhibition Hotel whilst watching the Ashes tests this year.
The location was excellent for the cricket ground and bars and also the proximity to the central station.
The rooms were a good size. Ours had a single bed room with a tv and coffee making facilities, and also a large separate double bedroom, (no tv in there)
The only down side to our stay there was that the double bedroom's airconditioning did not work, and I also saw cockroaches in the bathroom (only on one occasion though, as being a pest controller I got rid of them)
Within easy walking distance of the hotel are plenty of pubs and eating establishments.
The central station is literally across the road but no noise at all from there whatsoever.
The harbour and the rocks area are an easy bus/tram ride away or if you feel enegetic you could walk there in 30 mins or so.
Overall I would recommend a stay at this hotel as the staff were very friendly and it is so easy to get to from the station.

Had a business trip to Sydney in March and most places were book out.
This place had 1 room left and what a truly great find, rooms were clean
and spacious, ensuite was clean, bar was busy and friendly. food was good and cheap.
Was welcomed by a group of locals in the bar who took me into there group and
had a few beers. Really did feel at home. Keep up the good work.
For a 3 star hotel it was exceptional.

Room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, although hotel had a no smoking policy.
Room was very sparse, broken fridge left in-situ.
Air Con was very noisy.
Bar open till 4am, good for some maybe!!
Bar is also a betting shop. Not unusual for Australia.
Bistro was excellent.
