This is the last stop of our Sydney-Nelson Bay-Hunter Valley-Blue mountains-Sydney round trip.

Stayed in a private 5 bed dorm with private en suite. Sheets are clean and room is well...basic. But for only 1 night, it did its job.

4 cooking stations with all the tools you need to make dinner. Huge dining area and common lounge. This is much bigger than the hostels we stayed in Europe many years ago where the kitchen was much smaller. As usual, BYO food, label them and store at the common fridge.

Weather was too cold & wet to venture to level 3 where you can get the view of the opera house if you are too lazy to walk 10mins down the streets to the quay side for a better view (& pictures).

Street parking is ample. If you are coming by public transport, the bus stop is just outside the door anyway. 10mins drive through the numerous traffic lights to central CBD area. 10mins walk to quay side (for boat ride to darling harbour)

YHA is a great place to stay if you simply need a bed for the night, no matter the continent or location.

The hostel is very new, modern and clean, located in the oldest part of the city. The rooftop terrace overlooks both the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge - and it's a stunning view, especially early in the morning, when the sun rises behind the opera. It's a stones throw away from the Harbour Bridge and close to the main attractions of the city. It is constructed over the site of an archeological dig and some of the artifacts found are displayed throughout the hostel. The rooms are very clean, with en suite toilets and showers, lockers and even desks and chairs. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the kitchen and laundry are well equipped. It's a bit on the expensive side though, but well worth it.

Room Tip: If you sleep in a dorm type room, room 334 is simply the best-direct access to the rooftop terrace!

Each room has its own bathroom and one locker per bed. Each bed has its own plug for chargers, etc. The view from the roof top is wonderful (my room was on the basement so with no viw). Clean and large kitchen and common areas.
Overall a great YHA if you're not bothered by the price : 59 dollars per night. The pricier bunk bed in the world !

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is on an elevated floor

Definitely stay here if this is your first time to Oz!!! This is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. It was like a hotel. The bathrooms are so clean, the bed was comfortable, room a comfortable temperature and not noisy-- was able to sleep fine. Yeah, it's not much of a "community" feel, more like a hotel vibe, but if you want a good night's sleep and a clean bed, this is the place to stay. Great view from the roof, too.

We stayed at the YHA for a girls weekend . The room was basic but very clean. The lockers were handy in the room but make sure you have a padlock that fits although you can hire one at reception. The staff were very helpful and the amenities were fantastic. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to others. The views from the rooftop terrace were amazing and we watched the vivid light show from there. Good value for money.

Reasonably new Yha in The Rocks area of Sydney. Very central to tourist attractions, buses, trains & taxis. Very clean, large bunks with clean white sheets provided. Great to sit up on the top bunk and not hit your head on the roof! All bunks have a power box where you can charge mobiles, IPads or even watch a movie on laptop while other room mates sleep. Also has a down light which doesn't disturb other room mates.
Separate bathroom & toilet that is clean & modern. Towels provided for $1.00.
YHA built over an archeological dig - pretty cool.
Rooftop view to die for. Picturesque views of the Opera House & Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Great kitchen so don't forget to bring along some brekkie food or your tea bags for that late night cuppa.
Did I also mention how good the security is - I felt very safe.

Room Tip: Ask the staff - tell them what you want and they will help you.
