I've heard great things about Sake but, to be honest, I was a tad disappointed. The food was nothing to rave about and they kept us waiting quite a while past our reservation time before seating us. The one in Brisbane is a whole different matter though - that one is awesome!

The best Japanese in Sydney. Must gets are popcorn shrimp, kingfish jalapeño and dumplings. All of the mains are great. Layout is great and the service is quality.

We are have been to Sake numerous times now and are never disappointed - in fact it remains the restaurant of choice for our adult children to meet when we are all in Sydney. We always arrive a little early so we can have a cocktail in the bar area. Our last meal there was on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was full. The menu contains some wonderful fusions of flavour and style as well as more traditional dishes. It never disappoints! The staff are always helpful and will spend time with you discussing the menu. The atmosphere is buzzing although there are some smaller rooms to the side which would be quieter. The food, wine, atmosphere ad service all add up to a wonderful night out.

...in fact so good I've made. Booking for tomorrow to go back...now that says something. Very "nobu" like. Kingfish with jalapeño was the best dish. It was so good we ordered it twice! Sashimi tacos on the starter menu was ok, but won't be having them again. Not bad though, just not memorable. Prawn dumplings......not what I was expecting when they turned up but they were gorgeous .... But saved room for my next favourite course...the popcorn shrimp. Big yum..it was very similar to the nobu-style rock shrimp with creamy spicy. I loved this restaurant.

Fantastic food - service left a lot to be desired.
Waiting, Waiting, Waiting - first mains came out (yes they were salads @ lunch) but to not have anything else arrive for over 40 minutes!!! RIDICULOUS!!!!!
Even two asks of the waiter didn't make the food materialize - a complaint to the manage got things moving, albeit still slowly. Had those 2 mains removed from the bill (rightly so)

Great food RUINED by crap communication & service

Thank Sue J
