“Great location, stylish room, incredibly cheap”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2014

Stayed in a superior studio room for a one-night stop over in Sydney. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the room and facilities were, considering the low price - even had a view of the Harbour Bridge. Would definitely stay here again.

After reading the reviews, I was a little unsure about booking.

However with everything else booked out had no other options, I booked and hoped I didn't get the room above the shop. Yep guessed it, got the room above the shop.

The room was great, with a good view of the street, its easy to kick back and watch the comings and goings of everybody, had a great bed, couch and shower, the TV is pretty good too.
Great Kitchen but didn't use it, as its so close to the rocks.
So close to everything, great room and would stay there again YES.

The only negative things,A little bit of traffic noise during the day but it wasn't to bad it did seem to be quite at night, the bedroom blinds could be a little darker, but still OK. The only noise heard
from the shop was when they closed at 23:00 and opened at about 05:30

Would rate this place as average to good depending on the room that you manage to draw.

Great location, close to Circular Quay and a short walk to The Rocks, Opera House, museum, gardens etc. The apartments are individually owned, with a number occupied by owners / tenants which no doubt accounts for the varied experiences by those staying here short term - definitely luck of the draw.

Was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews here, but this was a work trip so didn't have a choice selection. One of the other travelers was given a room that definitely needed attention, and would have been best rated as a 2 star. That said, the 1 bedroom apartment that I was allocated at least resembled the advertised photos and matched the rating given to the hotel.

The apartment (see photos) was well maintained, clean, furnishings in good condition and comfortable bed - only downside was that 3 of the 4 pillows were lumpy. While semi-sheer blinds in the lounge area, the bedroom had block out blinds which was great for a good nights sleep.

The bathroom was clean, and a bonus was the combined washing machine / dryer. The negative - poor and varied water pressure with dripping shower and taps.

Stayed in room 913 on the 9th floor so quiet enough (some bus noise is unavoidable in this position); no real views to speak of other than a slither of the park and the top of the harbour bridge. Mostly looked into the office block behind, but at least some privacy guaranteed in the bedroom with the block out blinds.

I only saw someone at reception when checking in (around 3pm in the afternoon). At all other times it was vacant. On leaving in the morning had left something behind - tried calling the mobile number that was posted but no answer. Thank heavens one of the residents let me in and one of the cleaners kindly retrieved my article. While not a hotel, I would have at least expected staff to be readily available during business hours where short term apartments are in use.

Excellent position - one street from Circular Quay so very close to ferries, the Rocks, Opera House and Gardens. Not too far from city centre. Not bad view got to see some of bridge. Unit was very comfortable and clean. Bed was veeerrry comfortable. No one on reception at all times but a phone contact.

A tricky one , this.
The building is in a perfect location, 50 metres from Circular Quay. A short and iconic walk to the Opera House, The Rocks, The Royal Botanic Gardens. We had a 1 bedroom deluxe, which was well furnished, quiet enough ( some bus noise is unavoidable in this position); tea, coffee, jug were cheap, bed and pillows very comfortable.A fantastic position for the Vivid festival.

The problem with this place is that it's actually an apartment block in which some owners let out their apartments for short stays. There is quite a bit of unhappiness about this within the building and it's tangible in the attitude of some of the long term residents you run into in the lift. And it seems there is some legal basis for their complaint - The City of Sydney has sent an 'illegal use of premises' letter to some apartment owners, as recently reported in the Sydney Morning Herald. So if you are booking well into the future, I would be taking this uncertainty into consideration.

The reception service is cursory and not staffed all the time. I left something behind and when I tried to ring on the Saturday afternoon ( having checked out in the morning), I was met with ' you have called out of business hours, call again Monday', by which time my lost property would most likely have been irretrievable. They provide a number for emergencies but it's just a paging service and they will only take the details if it's an emergency. You don't have to tell them what the problem is, just that it's an emergency, which I considered the lost property to be, if this was the only way of contacting them. To the manager's credit he rang me immediately, located the lost item and I was able to pick it up a couple of days later.
However, this illustrates the strange no man's land that this place exists in. Use it for a short stay perhaps, but for anything longer, where you may need assistance, I think best to look elsewhere.

What an excellent property. We stayed in a Superior Bridge View Studio and It lived up to what it was described as.
Beautiful comfortable furnishings and amenities. Staff friendly and efficient.
Location was superb. Public Transport only a step away.
Would not consider staying anywhere else when next in Sydney.

Room Tip: Coffee & tea provided but no milk.

Booked a studio for one night and my fellow traveller booked a superior studio for $10 more.

Higher floor request filled (13th) so no noise issues from Bridge Street but boy, was my room disappointing. In a bad need of a makeover and some TLC. A melted toaster, a phone from the 80s, broken tv cabinet with a VCR(!). A huge difference from my friend's room that actually looked like what was advertised on the website.

At least the shower was nice and strong and the towels quite luxe. Shockingly, the list of dos and don'ts included taking all your own rubbish out of the room to the rubbish chute. Or be charged $55 or part thereof ...

I would say the $10 difference was between a two-star and a three-and-a-half star. The location was super convenient but the basic room allocated to me was certainly not shown on the website. See photos.
