“Loved the booking system”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

The online booking system was brilliant. We could see the booking times available and were rewarded with an immediate acceptance via text. This was important to us as we were visiting Sydney and had attempted to book a restaurant the night before. Every restaurant we tried was closed to telephone booking from 5pm or required an online booking request to which they replied within 24 hours - useless to us as we needed a confirmed booking.

We had eaten at Rockpool (Sydney and Melbourne) many times and wanted to try something different. The ease of the online system made us try it and we are so glad we did. Loved the food, service and ambience . Would be very happy to recommend the restaurant and will return.

“Booked special request stuffed up”
Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

My girlfriends daughter has PKU so when she booked she specifically told them and asked if they could accommodate her and they said they would but sadly it was not to be and the waitress was unhelpful. When we left I was asked our meal and I told them that we were disappointed and then the manager took the drinks off the bill and took my email yet never followed it up. Disappointing

“Fabulous!”

A wonderful restaurant down under the heart of the CBD. Great food and service. Good for a winter meal due to dungeon like location.

“Honour your food religion @ the Spice Temple”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The adventure starts as you climb carefully down the stairs from a somewhat hidden doorway on Bond Street, Sydney. The ambidence of the restaurant is one of sophistication, elegance with a sprinkle of mystique.

Our party of four for lunch shared 3 entrees, 2 pickles, 3 main meals over 3 hours mid week enjoyed with 3 glasses of wine (sangiovese with an elegant finish) and 3 signature cocktails all for AUD $460. Best dishes were lobster with ginger and garlic and crab omelette with XO sauce. The attentiveness and service of the reception and serving staff was very good and they read our need for support well. All in all a fantastic journey of the senses and we cannot wait again to return.

“It's good to be alive!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Heaven is downstairs! Neil Perry and his collaborators, yet again, make this a must try experience for any visitor to Sydney. Reasonably priced for truly exceptional food, service, cocktails, environment and general sense of well being you will feel as you feast your way through this happy event. They will serve most of the menu items as half serves, a handy tip as your taste buds come to life when the menu opens. For locals and visitors I recommend as number 1 dining pick in Sydney right now.
