“Be prepared to bankroll them”
Reviewed December 17, 2012 via mobile

Regardless of the standard of the accommodation, do not stay here unless you are prepared to allow them to take a $200 "deposit" that will be returned in "up to 5 days" .
So, if you are comfortable giving an interest free loan to your hotelier, this is the place for you.
Having stayed in hotels on business all over Australia, this was a shocking 1st for me and the very last.

Dear Guest

Many thanks for your feedback on trip advisor after your recent stay at Quest World Square. It is part of the terms and conditions that you signed at time of booking and check in that we do hold a $ 200 freeze on your account similar to what you may have done whilst renting/.hiring a car. This is automatically released within 3-5 working days of check out but can take longer depending on who you bank with. We will resend to your bank a reminder fax in relation to your freeze. Should you not get your funds be available back in your account in the next 48 hours, please call us at Quest World Square and we will endeavour to assist.

We thank you for your feedback.

Kind regards

While the location is superb the management is appauling. The check in procedure is time consuming and ridiculous. The rooms are adeqaute but the furniture is obcenely old and worn out. They charge for parking, a credit card fee and do not have free wi-fi. Very ordinary experience in all.

Dear Guest

Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback on trip advisor. We regret to note that you found the furniture tired and we will act on your feedback. In regards to parking, you will find that no property in the city of Sydney will offer free parking. Depending on what package you choose, some of them offer free internet and brekfast too- somethign that you may well have overlooked at time of booking.

We thank you again for your feedback.

Kind regards

Stayed there with my mother and daughter for several days. The location is perfect, the apartment was clean and well equipped and spacious.

No major complaints but a couple of niggles. The bathroom would completely steam up every time one of us used the shower (made it claustraphobic and difficult to breathe) and in fact, one morning my mother was in the shower when the fire alarm sirens went off for the apartments. Pretty sure that it was the steam from the shower that set it off!

My daughter was also keen to go for a swim in the rooftop pool early one evening and unfortunately, we could not find any lighting system for the area...not sure whether is was because it was so dark that we just couldn't find them or whether they are controlled by the staff.

Thirdly...no coffee plunger which is a pretty standard but of an adequately equipped apartment these days.

Would definitely stay there again despite the minor niggles.

Stayed in standard studio apartment because I was going to a concert at the entertainment centre and I didn't want to battle public transport back out to my house. absolutely No complaints. Fantastic apartments. Comfortable bed. View from balcony looks into offices like a previous review mentioned, but if you turn your head to the right you can peek through World Square and see the sky scrapers which line George and Pitt St.

This was the second time I've stayed here, and will definitely stay here in the future.

One suggestion though: can you provide more than one laundry sachet! I ended up buying detergent to take advantage of washing machine and dryer facilities :)

This was the first time we had stayed at serviced apartments rather than a hotel, so we weren't sure what to expect.

The entrance is on a side street off Goulburn St next to a Chinese Restaurant, and is a little tired and not particularly welcoming. However, do not be put off.

We arrived at about 8am and, understandably, our allocated room wasn't ready, however we were reallocated another room within a couple of minutes, and able to check in immediately.

The apartment itself was everything we needed. A kitchenette with fridge, hob, oven, toaster etc. We were only there for a few days and only made breakfast, so did not try to cook a proper meal. My guess is that a few simple meals could easily be prepared, but the limitation of size of kitchenette and oven would make "normal" cooking on a long term daily basis a little difficult. However, it was ideal for us. We had a small sitting area with television, DVD player and stereo. The sleeping area was large, with a king size comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space, including a built in safe. There was a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron. Ideal for our needs mid way through a month long trip to Australia. The bathroom was clean, modern, spacious, and had the best hotel shower I have ever had anywhere in the world.

The apartments are conveniently located within easy walking distance of Central Station, Chinatown, Tumbalong Park and Darling Harbour. Endless restaurants and fast food outlets, a couple of supermarkets and bottle stores are all only minutes away. Tumbalong Park and Darling Harbour also have free wifi.

As with all accommodation there were some downsides. The balcony looked straight out into offices opposite (although other reviews suggest rooms on a different side of the building may have better outlooks, and generally at the times we were on the balcony, the offices were empty) There are several bars on Goulburn Street with seating for smokers on the street and whilst it did not bother us, some people may find it a little uncomfortable or intimidating walking past drinkers later in the evening. There was also no wifi (although wired broadband was available in the room for a charge, and as mentioned, nearby Darling Harbour has free public access wifi).

This was something new for us, and something we will definitely repeat. The ability to wash our clothing, prepare food and avoid the cost of eating out every meal, and the space of the apartment over a standard hotel room was a real bonus on our trip. I would quite happily stay here again, and on the basis of our experiences, would have no hesitation in staying at a Quest apartment elsewhere.

Centrally located not far from main shopping area, china town, darling harbour, railway station and many restuarants. Good price compared to many other in the area. We will definitely stay when we next return to Sydney which is quite regularly.
