WE HAd a studio unit which was very well fitted out and we could catedr in on the nights we did not go out which was very useful for a seven night stay. A very good 20 metre indoor pool and a good jacuzzi. Close to china town which was good as we were there during the chinese new year. An easy access to the city and circular quay on the free city bus shuttle.;Only criticism is that units at the front can be a bit noise being close to Central station where the drivers sound a horn during the night but the double glazing kept this to a minimun

Room Tip: when bhooking ask for a room at the rear

Stayed here for two nights just over this past weekend. The room is old and out dated. Marks and scrapes on all the walls. The finishings on the kitchen were all peeling. There were stains on the kitchen cupboards. I went to fill the ice-cube tray for the freezer and the kitchen tap came off in my hand. I hardly pulled it. I reported it to the house keeper for maintenance to come and fix but nobody came. Therefore had to fill up cups and ice-cube trays in bathroom sink. The shower didn't work properly. Has two temperatures... Boiling hot and freezing cold. Most of the time I had to have baths and I can imagine in the middle of winter it'd be terrible. Last but not least the noise from the place is horrendous. The hotel overlooks Museum station and every ten minutes the trains come roaring into the station and they toot their horns as they enter the station. It's every 10 mins or so till about 9pm then every half an hour after that. Did I mention the dust that was everywhere!!!! I went to do some ironing and noticed that all my clothes were covered in dust. The ironing board had an inch of dust on it. I suggest people avoid this hotel at all costs. The price may be reasonable for the location but it's an absolute dump. I'm almost envious of the homeless man sleeping on cushions under the bridge nearby.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!

Thankyou for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your stay with us. It is through guest feedback that we are able to isolate areas of concern and improve of them. Oaks have just recently taken over the management in the building and have been working very hard to refurbish the rooms in order to illiminate the types of issues that you have mentioned. We have currently refurbished about 90% of our stock since starting here in August and recently categorised our room types on our direct website to allow the option to book a refurbished room. This way you can ensure that you are guaranteed to be allocated a refurbished unit. I would like to apologise for the miscommunication with the housekeeping I will definatley let the housekeeping manager know of the incident however any issues would have been best at the time to be brought to the attention of the front desk staff. Thank you again we appreciate your feedback and I do hope to be able to accomodate you again so that we can provide one of these rooms for you.

i loved this place! our room was large (one bedroom) and very comfortable.
the kitchen was very clean and new. we loved the LG phone dock. quality!
the balcony was a good size with nice furniture.
a/c worked great, washer and dryer were good!
we were facing east. on floor 14. would have loved to go higher! staff were very friendly.
the middle elevator got stuck for a minute or two and then sharply dropped! freaked us out a little. solid thick walls in the rooms which is great.
the location is good.

i'd be angry if they placed me in an unrenovated room. we got lucky.

We were staying at oaks on castlereagh for 2 nights and definitely a terrible experience.. They have construction started at 7am right above our room, we were very exhausted from the night before and was hoping we can sleep in before catching a flight later in thr evening. Called a front desk and the lady is not very helping saying she can't do anything about it.. Don't stay here if you like a peace and quiet morning!! The hotel should not start any construction very early in the morning because it's very disturbing. Feels like i'm staying in a hostel...... Disaapointed!

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. I apologise for the inconvenience of the noise you expereinced during this time. It is unfortunate that your room was located so close to a room that was being worked on. We are currently refurbishing the rooms in the building to ensure that we can provide our 4 and half star standard. We have come quite far with this process since we have started. I will definatley take your comments on board regarding the start time for the construction in an attempt to reduce the amount of noise at this time of the morning. Again thank you for your feedback and I hope we can welcome you back in the future.

We had wonderful 3 night stay. We were warmly welcomed and instantly upgraded (without asking) to one of the 'penthouse suites with huge balcony(s) and great views over the city. The service was top notch. The kids were entertained with movies available for free and a huge indoor pool an spa. The hotel is close to everything and within walking distance to Harbour bridge and Ferries. Highly recommend this hotel.

Sizeable 1 bed apartment. Had to request move from allocated room as too much noise from trains opposite. Looks to have been refurbished recently. Clean. Paid in full up front yet front desk demanded security deposit which, when you are a senior and have paid before arrival, is really insulting. Worse still they required photo ID. They then without permission photocopied my license. I was only wanting to stay in a hotel, not gain entry to Fort Knox. I confiscated the photo copy and complained loudly. These practices in many hotels need to be revisited. Anyway room was well appointed.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room on the main street side and below 10th floor unless you enjoy train whistles

Very good location - proximate to Central station (just 5 mins walk); 10 mins to China Town & Darling Harbour and it's just within 10 minutes walking distance to various shopping centres and I was able to do crazy shopping on Boxing Day; various restaurants nearby (mainly Thai) and offers good quality and delicous food;

Staffs are friendly and helpful and prompt in responding your request; special thanks to Andrew, Monica, Noppawan & Tim! You are such a great team and made my stay in Sydney a remarkable one!

Room Tip: Request room not facing the train station as the service ends at midnight and the noise that it make...
