What a shock!!! Dropped off at the rear enterance of the hotel which had bins outside full of foul smelling rubbish and the place next door was boarded up with flyers on the wall. I'd had lovely hotels during my stay and my travel agent made the worst choice of his life. The hotel room was dirty (vomit between the bed and bedside cupboard) holes in the bedsheets, rest of the bedding rather grubby too dark dingy room extremely cramped. Bathroom left a lot to be desired. The main street to the front of the hotel was full of sex shops. Only good thing about this place was the location which made it really easy to get around the city and beyond. Food was terrible oh! And if you want a decentish breakfast try the backpackers hotel over the road.

When we entered the front desk we first thought we where in East Berlin 1973.. The staff was really rude and had no interest in get any service at all.

The door to our bathroom had stains of blood and under the bed a mini Sydney zoo was found...

The only good thing with this hotel is that it has close location to darling harbour.

Don’t stay here, you will regret it I promise!

We stayed here on our honeymoon in december. Great location, 2 mins walk from train station and 5 mins to Darling Harbour. Rooms small, but good. Service ok, they let us store the luggage before we could check in and gave us a room as soon as they had. I you are a gourmet I would not recommend the hotel restaurant, it is ok but not more than that. The hotel is ok for a couple of nights, but I probably would not stay for a longer time.

Booked this over the internet - too rushed to check on Trip Advisor first - what a mistake! Very tiny, dingy room with two bunk beds (must have omitted to say we were on honeymoon!)

The area was very downmarket. On one side of the hotel was a gun shop and the other side was a sex shop. Very noisy at night and surrounded by cheap bedsits and 24 hour shops.

The lobby area was immaculate - as soon as you stepped away from the lobby the decor changed, and it was a very shabby place.

Spend a bit more time and find somewhere else - it will be worth it!!

I had the misfortune of being booked in by my company for an overnight stay after our Christmas Party.
It starts out hard to find as there is another Pacific International(Apartments)down the road and if you park for this you are subject to carrying luggage 15 minutes back up the road. Once we knew where to go there are parking stations quite close at A$15 per night.
Check In was OK but I had booked a smoking room and was advised the whole hotel was non smoking.
Arriving in the room was a real let down. Bad lighting, aged and worn furniture and a musty smell that could not escape as the windows can't be opened. The air conditioner had a rattle that was fixed with a couple of hits. The room was tiny as was the double bed, my feet hung over the edge. It was so dismal that we forsake the bottle of wine we brought and went to the bar which is quite good.
Upon returning after the party we had a reasonable sleep until 4AM when numerous young men returned to next door which highlighted paper thin walls.
The bathroom was as big as the room but had no shower screen and water pressure and temperature were a problem and the toilet leaked.
Breakfast is A$11 per person and upon arriving we were sent back to reception to buy a ticket before entering the area and they were reluctant to add this to the room and requested cash. The breakfast was not to my liking, cold bacon, no serviettes, the orange juice was empty and this was only fixed after making a complaint.
All in all I would never stay here again whatever the circumstance as there are far better and cheaper hotels closer to the main attractions.

I stayed at the Pacific for three weeks during Feb. and March of 2005. The staff were extremely helpful and the room immaculate.
The buffet breakfast, which was included in the cost of my room, was fantastic with a great choice of hot and cold.
This hotel is fabulous value for money and I would definitely go again and recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Sydney.
