“Excellent trip to The Blue Mountains Sydney”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

Here I want to say "Thank You" again to Mr. Ken, a gentleman who worked for Tours-R-Us for more than 20 years.

A very kind, warm-hearted man, who showed us all the high lights of the Blue Mountains, as well as detailed explanation in history. Also during a one-day trip, he tried to bring us to the Sydney Wild Zoo. He's very professional that he kept asking our demands and when we had no ideas, he gave us suggestions. Besides, during the trip, he taught my son how to play with the Boomering, which is very interesting.

For sure the sceneries of Blue Mountain area is great! However, the nice service of Ken made the trip even more excellent!

“We enjoyed it but..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Last may 2012 we enjoyed every bits of our travel to blue mountains with sydney tour r us. Our driver ( i think was Reg) was nice and friendly. We were not rushed and was given time to enjoy katoomba, featherdale, luera, blue mountains. We ended that trip on a nice cruise and happy.

Naturally, when we came back to sydney we wanted to tour with them. So i asked my wife to call sydney-tour r us to book a sydney city tour / captain cook cruise. But when the bus arrive to pick us up it is via AAT Kings and no longer with them. Which is fine but what we booked is not what we got from AAT. We wanted to do a whole day tour but on AATs record we booked only a morning tour plus the cruise.

I think, if it is blue mountain they are a great choice but sometimes on other trips they will just refer you to other companies.

But still our blue mountain trip last may 2012 was excellent!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about our Blue mountains tour and the good service our professional driver Reg provided to you. We are so pleased to hear you say that our tour company was "a great choice ".

We do specialise in the Blue mountains as a daily tour offering just small group sizes up to a maximum of 21 people. This small size group tour works well for us and always receives positive praise from our customers - having operated the same tour EVERY day now for 21 years I believe we have refined the tour to perfection, but we still encourage and are open to suggestions and constructive thoughts from our customers.

For all other tours such as City Sights, Port Stephens Dolphins, Canberra etc. we prefer to use the services of another tour operator such as AAT as they have larger luxury coaches for these longer day trips. However, we can offer any day tour to any destination on our smaller buses where there is a group of people who only want their own private charter using one of our professional guides.

Once again, thank you for rating our Blue Mountains tour as "Excellent".

Highly recommended Tour to the Blue mountains.
We were met at exactly 7.30am and the guide showed professionalism from the start and down to earth friendliness.
My family of 6 had a great time.
We enjoyed the knowledgeable insight into the geology, flora and fauna.
Saw some wonderful views and animals and overall it is a great time.

“Excellent choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

There are many tours to the Blue Miuntains but this is the tour company you should pick. John was a great tour guide. The Featherdale wildlife park was worth the stop. Do take the optional rides at Scenicworld - well worth the extra cost. I would skip the lunch option - the food was ok but there were many other places just down the road that I could have gone to instead for more interesting food. I booked this tour through another site so I could pay in advance. I wouldn't do that again as I had to pay a booking fee and had to take the lunch option. It is just fine to reserve the trip and pay on the bus. Loved this tour!

“Fun Tour for a Great Price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

We typically aren't "tour people" but with an 8 month old in tow we decided to give it a shot. After the rave reviews I read for Tours R Us, we decided to go for it and it turned out great. We had Manash (spelling??) and he was such a fun tour guide.

First, I think it's a great day for the price. Between the Featherdale Wildlife Park (there are lots of fun animals...you can feed/pet the kangaroos and pet a koala...I'd rush to that part and then go see the crocodile, penguins, etc - we spent too much time at the beginning of the park), the Scenic World attractions, a quick stop in Leura...it was wonderful. I would recommend not going with the lunch provided. They will drop you off on the main strip of Katoomba and you can find a place to eat. We opted to pay the extra $10/person and while it wasn't horrible, we would have much preferred to find a different spot (the restaurant they take you to is half casino and you have your choice of Chinese buffet, a few meat dishes or fish and chips...it was a little on the odd side). BUT, that's a side point...and something I wish someone had written about when I was researching.

The Blue Mountains were beautiful and an absolute must see. Manash drove us to a 'secret' lookout location (which you can do because you're in a much smaller bus, about 25 people) and we enjoyed ah-maz-ing views all to ourselves. We also really enjoyed the Aboriginal stop. The performers are so much fun, and you can tell they love sharing the information about their people. And the ferry ride at the end is great. Perfect time of day and the bridge and Opera House look beautiful.

Manash gave us great commentary along the way. AND, at the end of the tour, when my husband tried to give him a tip, refused it when he saw he was being handed a 50 (rather than the intended 5). Made us wish we had smaller bills to really leave him a tip!

Oh, and for those traveling with babies, leave the stroller. We thought we'd want it for after the tour, but we just used a Moby wrap (or whatever kind of sling) and it was great. A stroller would be a headache.

Dear Amy,

Thank you so much for writing such a lengthy wonderful comment about our Blue mountains tour.

We are particularly excited to hear that you were not "tour people" yet the tour ,you say, turned out to be "great" ! We hope we have converted you to doing more tours as they provide to customers a wealth of knowledge along the way and make for quality use of your precious, short holiday time.
You are also being serviced by professionals who know the areas being visited and can make the very most from the one valuable day you have to visit a destination.

We do try to provide a special smaller group tour of the Blue mountains and we do take our guests to various "secret" lookout points where the larger groups cannot access.
Our guides do explain on the day about the various lunch options available in Katoomba.
You may include lunch at our restaurant in Katoomba which offers a variety of hot meals,or,you may prefer to linger in the Katoomba village eating snacks ,or,there are many cafes to choose from, You may also even bring along your own lunch for your own private picnic and we then can take you to a special park offering a magnificent views.
You only need to mention to our guide on the bus of your individual preference.
The Blue mountains are most certainly an "absolute MUST SEE" when visiting Sydney and are, in fact, the No.1 destination for all visitors when in Sydney.
We endeavour, and are proud to continue to show the world this wonderful World Heritage Park of natural beauty .
