“unexpected gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

The atmosphere brings a rustic and homely feel not found easily in Sydney. We had a group of 12 for a party. A table was set with drinks pre-poured as requested. With our number we sampled almost everything. I settled on the Beef Tartare and the Chicken Casserole because I wanted 'home food'. The casserole was quite rich in flavour.

Waiting for your nourishing meal over a glass of wine you could imagine that the outside world was anywhere.

“lots of character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

This quaint little french restaurant surprised our family group.
The staff were very friendly, efficient and had a good sense of humour. The food was authentic and flavours were very good. Waiting time was to a minimum but didn't feel rushed. There were 6 in our group but all meals arrived together and everybody enjoyed what they ordered.
Prices were fairly standard for Sydney and for a place of this quality.
We will certainly return.
You must book ahead.

“Great little Bistro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Had an enjoyable meal.

Ordered the escargots, veal bourguignon and finished with a creme brûlée. Escargot were ok. I excepted them to be a little more garlicky, but they were ok. Veal was delicious. Sauce had been reduced perfectly. It was light with no stodgyness you can get in some restaurants. Main was not a large meal, but the taste was great.

Creme brûlée was one of the better ones I have had (and have tried quite a few).

These were all washed down with a couple of nice full bodied reds and a rose to finish. Good selection of wines by the glass. All in all, good atmosphere, good staff service and good food.

Will certainly be back.

Stumbled on this gorgeous "hole in the wall" on our way to have massages at Grand Royal Thai Massage....wow! we were so lucky to find this gorgeous French restaurant with friendly staff, fantastic food and romantic setting all at a very reasonable price, will definitely return for second choice on the menu..

“Classic french food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Exceptional, traditional french cuisine without the price tag. Specialties of the house are highly recommended. Service is friendly and attentive. If you love french food cooked exactly as it should be, then this is the place. Great central location too!
