We were met at our hotel and our group had 15 passengers. First stop was Featherdale wildlife park before all the tours arrived, it was beautiful meeting the birds and animals in the morning sun. As we drove through about half an hour of ordinary suburbia, Nigel talked to us about some current themes and issues in Australia, no one dodges a serve, but it is accurate, real and funny! The bus then climbed into beautiful mountain suburbs and Nigel very sensibly recommended we stop at a sandwich/cake shop to buy our lunches (delicious) which we took with us to eat later. All went like clockwork because Nigel seems to know everyone in the Blue Mountains and can get the best deals, no queues etc. he even stopped the bus in Katoomba when he saw a friend walking along the street and it turned out she is a retired prima ballerina and we chatted to her before she performed a pirouette! It is these quirky moments that make the day exceptional. Needless to say, you get to see a full range of the best the Blue Mountains has to offer. We even liked Nigel's choices of CD in the mini bus, it was like becoming "mates" with a true Aussie gentleman! Highly recommended tour.
