We were met at our hotel and our group had 15 passengers. First stop was Featherdale wildlife park before all the tours arrived, it was beautiful meeting the birds and animals in the morning sun. As we drove through about half an hour of ordinary suburbia, Nigel talked to us about some current themes and issues in Australia, no one dodges a serve, but it is accurate, real and funny! The bus then climbed into beautiful mountain suburbs and Nigel very sensibly recommended we stop at a sandwich/cake shop to buy our lunches (delicious) which we took with us to eat later. All went like clockwork because Nigel seems to know everyone in the Blue Mountains and can get the best deals, no queues etc. he even stopped the bus in Katoomba when he saw a friend walking along the street and it turned out she is a retired prima ballerina and we chatted to her before she performed a pirouette! It is these quirky moments that make the day exceptional. Needless to say, you get to see a full range of the best the Blue Mountains has to offer. We even liked Nigel's choices of CD in the mini bus, it was like becoming "mates" with a true Aussie gentleman! Highly recommended tour.

We arranged a private tour (10 of us) from Sydney to the Blue Mountains. Our driver Rae (we requested her, we'd had her on a Hunter Valley trip) was excellent as usual. She picked us up in Chatswood across from our hotel and off we went. We stopped at a couple of "off the beaten path" spots to take some pictures and then had an early lunch in Leura. Our group split up between a couple of restaurants. I and 3 others ate at Cafe Madeleine. One of our group had the hot chocolate, which was described as "the best thing I've ever had".

After lunch we went to Scenic World where we rode the cable cars and funicular railroad, all of which was a lot of fun. We headed back to Sydney stopping at Featherdale Park where we were able to pet koalas, kangaroos, and wallabys. We finally boarded the bus for a trip to Paramatta where we caught a ferry for the 1 hour ride into Circular Quay in Sydney Harbour. Lucky for us VIVID SYDNEY was going on, and we saw an amazing light spectacular on the Opera House and the buildings in Darling and Sydney Harbour.

All-in-all, a great day was had by the group, led by enthusiastic commentary (and occasionally participation) by our drive Rae.

I heartily recommend Activity Tours!

Nigel is the greatest. This is the best tour for your money. Blue Mountains are amazing.
I can't believe Nigel hiked all the way down to the waterfalls. He's in such great shape!
Would recco' doing this tour over any other. He lets you do your own thing and isn't on a strict schedule.
He also really loves his pies with cream!
Thanks Nigel for a wonderful day trip to the blue mountains. The Featherdale wildlife park was our favorite. Those koalas are adorable.

I fully endorse previous recent reviews. They say all I wanted to write! Nigel was an excellent tour guide and made the day flexible for all. The Featherdale Wildlife Park was an excellent start to the tour. Once we hit the Blue Mountains the views were stunning. We saw the Aboriginal Show which was well worth seeing. After lunch we chose not to walk too much and started down with the spectacular train ride, then walked through the rain forest to the cable car to come back up. Should we take the Eye Car across the ravine? We decided yes and did the return journey. The bus later drops you at Olympic Park ferry stop and we did the 40 minute ferry to Circular Quay - under the Harbour Bridge with stunning views of the City and Opera House in twilight plus the bonus of a full moon. Many thanks to Nigel and Activity a Tours for a great day.
