This small reserve is just on the edge of Coffs, and is pretty quick and easy to drive to. It has some lookouts and walks that access escarpment dry forest to wet forest and rainforest, with some good birdlife.

Looking for a walk in a lovely patch of bush complete with a great viewing platform and 180 degree views over the Coffs coast. The drive up is a little bumpy if your precious about your car, but nothing major and certainly every car can do it, including those with low profile sports tyres,
Great views to be had here, enjoy!!!

What a place; outdoor, fresh air, great views and easy to get ago und for all age groups.
We went straight up to Sealys Lookout with a group of elderly. There is toilets, a picnic ground and a amazing lookout. The rainforest is beautiful and so close to Coffs Harbour.

There are some nice walks through the forest - generally rather undulating and challenging, so don't plan to go too far. On this day there were heaps of leeches which caused a lot of distress for one of the girls in particular. Make sure you prep everyone on what leeches are & how to deal with them. We saw a large snake as well, but he didn't cause us any trouble, Make sure you take a first aid kit!

About a 6km winding drive from the highway up the mountain to the lookout. Plenty of parking. One main picnic area with a few smaller tables below. The lookout lets you see all of Coffs Harbour. 5 mins from the main shopping centre. Also a short trail to walk nearby. Good for what it is.
Enjoy!

Most people come on this road to visit the Sealy lookout. The lookout is worthwhile, but it is also worth stopping to read the information about the trails in the gap area. You will see the big information signs as you head for the lookout. You can park you car right there by the signs and can take a relatively easy walk through the moist rainforest. The trail needed a bit of maintenance, but it was a minor issue. No mosquitoes or flies when we did this rainforest trail in early November. You will have the trail to yourself as most people don't appear to stop here and just continue up to the lookout which is not far.

It is amazing to have this kind of forests so close to the city and so close to disturbed areas nearby where bananas and avocados are cultivated.

The trail is not wheelchair accessible and there is a bit of up and down, but it is not a strenuous trail or a very long trail. It took us less than an hour to do.

A combination of the rainforest walk and then a visit to the lookout followed by a picnic at the picnic area next to the lookout would be a nice combination for half of your day.

There are a couple of walks here to do from the Gap car park.
Narrow walking tracks but lots of fun. Not well maintained but that could of been because it was winter and not so popular.

One of the bridges was out and one of the other tracks had a tracks not maintained sign.

Hi AU-girl,
Thanks for the feedback on our walking tracks. We have been working on them in recent weeks, and a new bridge was installed with the help of Conservation Volunteers. Maintaining the tracks does take time, but we've taken on board your comments and will note them to the local staff in our Tourism team. Thanks and cheers, NSW State Forests.

Magnificent views from this beautiful lookout - close to the Big Banana and a definite must-see when you're in Coffs Harbour.

Drive up Bruxnor Park and when you come to the left turn up to Sealy lookout you will see a small carpark (there are no lines, just park in front of the sign). I have done this many times and recommended starting walking down. There are steps and steep parts and vines and sometimes the path is blocked - it can be a big adventure! When you get to the creek don't stop, you WILL get attacked by leeches. Stand on the bridge and admire from there. And take salt. They crawled in through the mesh on my joggers and know I have a big hole.
Head up to the lookout but If you want to have a picnic get back in the car and keep driving until you come to a tiny left hand turn - looks a bit like a fire trail, very hidden. About 10-20 m in there is a bridge and picnic tables. Lovely place to sit and eat a sandwich.

Hi chelseytolhurst,

We thought you might like to know that we're currently building an all-weather picnic shelter next to the Forest Sky Pier at Sealy Lookout. Will be another great picnic spot if you're looking for one with a view.

Thanks for the review.

Cheers,

Only a short drive up to the park and certainly worth the effort for the view. Great views of the entire Coffs Harbour area and that area of the east coast. BEAUTIFUL. NOT much else to say.
