“Lovely rainforest walk - watch out for the leeches”

Bruxner Park Flora Reserve
Attraction details
Reviewed April 25, 2014

We did the rainforest and creek walks. Both start in from the middle car park. They are easy and pleasant walks through lovely rainforest. The creek walk is along a pleasant stream (as you'd expect!). It was running when we were there and looks like it would flow most of the time. The only thing to watch out for is leeches. There were heaps of them. We got about 20 each in our shoes. None actually bit us but it was quite unnerving.

The Korora Lookout is worth the 1k walk (the track is just down the hill from the sign and is more of a driveway than a walking track), and the skywalk is nice too (no real walking required). On the drive there (Bruxner Park Road), there are bananas and avocados for sale. On the drive back to the highway (via Central Bucca Road and Bucca Road), there are tomatoes and free range eggs for sale. The eggs are marked by a "600m away' sign on a side road and are sold by a lovely guy named Peter. Just walk up to his front door and knock!

We recently revisited the Skywalk at the top of Bruxner Park and then walked about 1 km to the Kororo Lookout with absolutely spectacular views looking north along the coast.
If you are going to do this walk make sure you have sturdy walking shoes on as the path is quite rough, worth the walk though for the views.

Be sure to visit the Bruxner Park Flora Reserve and the Lookout. Located just 15 minutes drive north of Coffs Harbour, this modern Lookout provides superb views of Coffs and the neighbouring areas......and it's all free!
