Have stayed at this resort previously as part of exchange programme. This stay was in identical room. Room size is just a hotel room. Have seen bigger rooms for same or better value. Distance from accomodation tower to restaurant / reception can be a problem. We did encounter over 200mm rain in 36 hours. Staff at reception were fantastic helped us with a couple of issues and restaurant staff catered for food allergies my wife and daughter suffer from.
I would stay here again if I have another wedding to attend but I dont know if the room would be roomy enough to stay long term

We do have 2 types of rooms at the resort. A resort room with is a normal size hotel room and 1 bedroom spa suites which have a separate lounge dining area, kitchenette and laundry.

Do not bother trying to stay here
No hot water in the room; 10.00pm, long drive from Sydney, fed up, terrible hotel, best offer was to change from a spa room - yes, we actually wanted a spa with hot water - to another without a spa so we could shower in the morning as there would be none in the morning either.
It is very late at night. We are 60 odd and tired after a 7 hour drive. Too tired to move. I have opted for letting Trip Advisor know & not paying for the room & complaining to Accor Hotels.
The whole place is a grubby dump, needs a dam good clean & needs tarting up very badly.
Coach tours & rugby thugs seem their clientele.
We do not recommend you stay here under any circumstances

Room Tip: Ask specifically for hot water or you won't get it; third world standards prevail

Our maintenance team checked the hot water system of the room you stayed in and it was in working order. As also mentioned in other reviews we have upgraded the rooms over the last few years.

Check in was efficient and informative. Bar and restaurant staff friendly and food delicious and good value.Resort clean and comfortable and in a good location. Everything that is necessary for a relaxing time is within the resort. Nothing to complain about at all.

My wife and I stayed for one night in the Novotel Hotel. During check in I have been told that we got upgraded to a lagoon room, yea great! Very quickly we realised the room was dirty and obviously not cleaned since the last guest. The bar fridge was without drinks, but with some rubbish left over, the bathroom had still used soap and under the bed sheet was one sock from the previous guest. The linen was not exchanged and with a lot of hair. Overall the room require a renovation to keep up with the Novotel standard.
The breakfast buffet and the premisses was the only highlight.

The restaurant food was the saving grace, we won a prize for a room for two, the room was very old and poor, no mini bar in the fridge, just some one else's stinking left over salad that hasn't been taken out, two single beds pushed together, one slightly higher than the other that made it hard for a young couple to cuddle up lol, if this is accor, I'm not joining!!

The Novotel is located just a little out of town (about 4km), so you would need a car if you were leaving the complex.

The Reception complex is separate to the Accommodation tower (about a 3min walk). Check-in (and check-out) was quick and friendly.

The limited under-cover parking fills up fast and it was full around 8pm!

We stayed in the "Bayside" section and used the lift to get to the 5th floor.

Our room was very tired and in need of updating. Furnishings were about 15-20 years old (rattan bedhead and old side lamps attached to the walls).

The bathroom had new tapware but the shower door, vanity and open wooden shelving are in need of a good overhaul.

The king bed was okay but they could do with a new pillow or two (and provide more than 1 pillow each as well).

Next morning we had a complimentary breakfast - let's just say the staff were better than the food.

Personally, we wouldn't want to stay here longer than just overnight.

My Wife and I stayed at the Novotel Pacific Bay for a long weekend. The Location is very good just 5 mins north of Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Hwy. In saying that you would really need a car to get around if you are staying there and want to look around.
The Hotel itself is in need of a make over as it is getting on in years, but our room did have new carpet in it - not sure if that was just our room.
We had a lagoon View room on the first floor. The view was pleasant overlooking the lagoon and the golf course. The room size was OK - nothing to big but enough to move around. The bathroom was of average size for a room with just shower, basin and toilet. The room was clean but as I stated could use a make over.
The facilities at the hotel are quite good with not bad access to the beach. As it is getting a little colder now we didnt make use of this or the pool. The Breakfast area / restaurant is very nice with very pleasant views (see my Photo of the main building).
It is a bit of a walk between the resort rooms and the main building - but very pleasant.
The staff are friendly and keen to please- so no issues there.
The restaurant - Charlie s was very good (see my separate review).
All in All if you want a getaway for a weekend and dont plan to stay in your room the whole time, I would use this hotel.
We will go back if we were to go back to stay in Coffs Harbour or on the way through.
