We stay at this Hotel often and it's great! If you like a spot away from the CBD, close to the beach and in an environment that contains all you need, pools, gym, sauna, spa, restaurants - this for you..!. Off season - when we travel - just two of us, the place is as quiet as a church and you'll pretty much have the joint to yourself.

The price is generally quite good through the off-season, though we found it costed more this time.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting the Coffs Harbour area. The area seems to lack much choice in the 4* hotel category, with a lot of the more upmarket accommodation being apartments. The grounds are beautiful, and the place had a real chilled-out feel, never feeling busy despite being the middle of the school holidays. There are two pools, one family-orientated and another lap pool which was a lot quiter (never had a problem getting a sun lounger). The restaurant and bar were friendly enough, but note that there is just the one restaurant on site, and the menu is a bit limited. If you like eating out, you'll need a car, as the hotel isn't really in walking distance of anywhere else, being outside of Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Highway. There are a range of activities on site - would definitely recommend the Segway experience!
The hotel backs on to a beautiful little shingle beach (great for sand-haters!) which I had pretty much to myself every time I visited.
The main disappointment here, as many other reviews point, is the condition of the rooms. They're clean enough, and of a decent size, but if feels like the Accor group have spent precious little money doing them up since taking over the hotel (probably because the lack of competition in the area means they have no incentive to?). As such, they're firmly stuck in the early nineties, and a far cry from the standard found in Novotels in Europe (although in my experience, this is not unusual for Australian hotels).
Finally, worth noting that if you're a Le Club Accor loyalty member, you can't earn points here as the hotel is one of the few that doesn't participate in the scheme.
Would I stay here again? Yes, but come on Accor - get your chequebook out before my next visit!

We thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us at Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort, we are constantly looking at ways to refine and improve our delivery of service and the quality of our product and your feedback will certainly assist in this.
As also mentioned in other reviews we have upgraded the rooms over the last few years and as the resort in a strata property with all room being individually owned I will pass your comments onto the unit owners.
Thank you for your kind words in regards to the property’s garden, facilities and activities.
Once again I thank you for your feedback, and I hope to see you back at the resort in the not to distant future.

This hotel is set in fantastic grounds with palm trees, lakes, gorgeous plants and a real tropical feel. Its out of the Coffs Harbour centre and needs driving to. My room was very big, the bed was huge too, I had a balcony which looked over the gardens. All very nice. The hotel has a pool - which is actually a proper size and a great gym. It is quite spread out which is good, but also means carrying cases to your room. I did spot a trolley in one of the lifts once but not sure if there is concierge help if you needed it, I wasn't offered help with cases.

The other downside could be weather. Walking to the centre, shop, restaurnat bar etc could mean getting wet, there's no covered walk ways although there was an umbrella in the wardrobe - if you spot it!

The trees are full of birds and I saw quite a few lizards roaming around. I left my balcony door open and listened to the chattering of the parrots at dusk, brilliant!

We stayed here for one night on the drive home to Brisbane from Sydney. While we were only here for less than 24 hours, I could tell that I would get quite bored if I had to stay any longer. The room was just average, however it was clean. The beds were not so comfortable and after driving all day, this was my biggest disappointment. The buffet breakfast was average, although we enjoyed watching the water dragons play on the rocks outside. I wouldn't book a family holiday here, or even a long weekend, but if the quality of beds could be improved, then it could certainly be a stopover point on our frequent trips to Sydney.

The grounds of the resort made us feel relaxed and in holiday mode. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere in the bar and restaurant were wonderful (we spent several evenings in the bar and restaurant). The apartment was spacious, but the vanity area and wardrobe space were two small for two people. Our balcony was spacious, and we enjoyed breakfast out there every day. We had views of the ocean, lagoon, golf course, pool and tennis courts. Coffs Harbour is a lovely town too, so we will be back (and stay at the Novotel).

Room Tip: Balcony views from the fourth floor were nice - could see the ocean, lagoon, golf course, pool and t...

Only stayed one night and the room was very good - clean, comfortable and roomy.
Downside was the walk across to the restaurant in drizzling rain & back again after dinner - no covered walkway.
Restaurant was the big let down. Service was dreadful - too few staff and very slow service. Once order was finally taken for our first drink (had to ask for this) we then had to ask for it to be delivered. Food (quality) was okay when it came, however, there was far too much variety on the plate - too many flavours and drowned in yukky gravy. Suggest the chef cuts down on how much variety on the plate and concentrate on doing a few portions really well. Didn't bother eating there for breakfast next day due to disappointing dinner, opting to go into town.

Spent five days there for a conference. A tired resort. Rooms ok - carpet new and bed was comfy. No drinks (soft or otherwise) or snacks available in the room. Had to walk down to vending machine on L1. Wardrobe shelves very dusty so clothes covered in dust. Next door people smoked on their balcony while I had room door open so room stunk of cigarettes - not nice. Pool area ok and gym was good. Food good in restaurant and a lovely range of dilmah teas available. I stay in accor hotels often and this would be at the lower end of the rnge. Also, $20 taxi to the city centre or airport

We do offer beverages from reception and drink machines located in the accommodation towers near the snack vending machines on level 1 next to the lifts. I will pass on your comments about the cleanliness of the room for the Executive housekeeper to address. I appologise for any inconvenience that the guests smoking in the next room that this has caused.
