I stayed at the resort for 2 nights at the beginning of November. I went with my two sisters and we had a lovely 2 bedroom villa.
On arrival there was a trainee staff member and we were given our key but the room was still being cleaned. That is the only thing I could fault.
Room was clean and surrounds were great.
Pool area was great and little visitors (lizards) were very friendly. The beach is only a stones throw from the resort.
Staff at brekky were great and very helpful evening allowing us to get the brekky special when we forgot to book.
Good stay - it looked like it was an ideal spot for families - lots for kids to do, but also great for couples and sisters just wanting some quality time together.

Room Tip: We stayed in Villa # 59 - good sport but we couldnt see the water, there were others like #27 that...

Hello!

And thankyou for taking your time to provide us with some lovely feedback! I am so delighted to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay here at "Aanuka" I will be sure to pass your feedback onto our lovely staff as it certainly makes them smile whern they are reminded that they took part in making your stay special!
It is a great spot for families as we are spread over 15 acres with so much to see and do! Including 5 pools, cave spas, a water slide, tennis courts, putt putt golf and a stone throw away to Diggers Beach, so I cant see the kids getting bored!
Once again thankyou for your feedback and we look forward to welcomming you back next time you decide to holiday on the Mid North Coast

I would like to say that i the worst experience in this resort. Specially having the F&B Manager (Michael [--]) working there and handling his staffs, felt very sad to see the way they were treated and dealt with. Had a great Front Office Staff and was supportive as well. Casay bar in the other hand was a big mess. No one knew what they were doing and everything was a huge mess. Had a Dinner at Finz as well but the food was very bad as the food had no flavor or taste that would make me feel like eating. The rooms were located very far from the resort with very poor lighting facility and transportation. I came all the way from over the sea to have the worst experience in this resort.

Didnt like The Food and Beverage Manager at all, and the way he spoke to me.

Really enjoyed our stay at Aanuka beach resort. Stayed 2 nights. Our room was a bure which had lovely timber furniture, fantastic huge bathroom with spa and opened to a glass ceiling, very cool. Big king split bed and very small kitchenette. The only thing missing was something to drip dry the plates. But we loved it. The staff are lovely. We have a little child and he wasn't too happy at breakfast and a beautiful staff member gave him a bag with crayons and paper, we didn't ask she did it all herself wish I got her name as she was lovely. Great stay highly recommend. Oh and it's right on the beach too.

Just had to write this, arrived last Wednesday all staff and may I say the General Manager were all friendly and helpful, we had dinner in the restaurant and it was wonderful everything was just perfect.
Our bure is spacious and the bathroom is to die for the grounds are lush and tropical and you have the beach at the back of the resort, what else could you ask for.
We so needed a week of relaxation and Annuka was recommended by a friend at work, she was so right it is a great place.
Will bring the family next year and stay in a few villa's,
Would highly recommend Aanuka to anyone.
As Forests2 said the sofa lounge was dreadful to sit on, but I can live with that!

Recently enjoyed 5 days at Aanuka. We had a secluded Bure with no passing foot traffic. Very relaxing. Pluses=Great Bathrooms. It was clean, lovely gardens, staff friendly & helpful. Great breakfasts. Minuses- Sofa lounge was dreadful to sit on, plumbing from next apartment was noisy.
Overall would definitely recommend a stay here

Room Tip: Bure no. 38. At the end of a path with no passing foot traffic from other guests

Look, I realise that the property consist of a strata where the unit/bures are individually owned, shame they are not ALL maintained to the same standard.

You should NOT have to ask for a "good" unit when you book.

Glad I only stayed one night, the price was definately way above the worth !

At 2AM I finally worked out what the water torture was.... an overflowing hot water pressure release valve dripping which I could not do anything about.

Woken in the morning by sun shining thru the "Blockout Curtains".

I definately was warried by the illegal electrical connection of the hairdryer.

Makes you wonder what other shonky stuff was around.

Dinner in the restaurant... over priced and poor selection. I ate from the kids menu !!

Breakfast, quite a poor selection really with the only eggs which appeared available being over cooked and very dry scrambled.

This property is definately NOT 5 Star, not every 2 star in reality.

OLD, Tired, Run down and best to avoid.

Room Tip: Go Elsewhere !!

We have stayed at a Bure/Villa which I have also reviewed, then moved to a studio room at the other end of the property. The grounds are large with several car parks. You check in, get a map and then find your own way. Our room was inaccessible by trolley (stairs) (there were no trolleys to be found anyway), so getting the luggage there was a major work out. The studio room was simply a 'hole in the wall', terribly small. No room to put a suitcase anywhere and we were forever tripping over our feet and each other. There is only one large window to each room, ceiling to floor right next to the walkways which makes the room like a fishbowl, people walking past less 1 metre from you. So you have no privacy, unless you draw the curtains and then the room becomes a dark mini cave. No outdoor area to sit and have a cup of tea. The doors to the rooms only seem to close when people slam them. It's quite crammed with people walking by all day long, so you don't get any peace and not a good night's sleep either. The room itself had a broken air con unit which couldn't be adjusted and was extremely old and noisy, furniture was chipped, the bathroom had grout in the tiles, the toilet wasn't cleaned properly and din't smell too good either, clothes hangars were missing from the wardrobe and the ironing board was so rusty and the handle broken that we couldn't fold it down and it was in the way the whole stay. At $169 per night, we would have been better and cheaper off in a motel. I actually stayed at the IBIS down the road for not even half the price and it was spotless. This resort is tired and has major maintenance and housekeeping issues. It would be a nightmare to have a holiday here instead of a stop-over or business stay. The location is superb, the pool areas are nice, shame about the rest. Overpriced and lack of TLC. Not recommended! If you want to stay here, then spend an extra $20 per night and stay at the bures/villas, at least you get an outdoor area to sit and some space to stretch your legs!
For international visitors - do not stay here, what you get in the US/Europe or Asia for that matter at this price is far better, you will be disappointed!

Room Tip: Take a larger room, avoid the studio rooms at all costs.

Dear AquaPacifica
I am saddened to hear that your stay with us here at the Resort was unpleasant, we definitely do take all comments on board to maximise our service to our guests, Our Resort is located on 15 acres so therefore our rooms are spread out across the Resort, we do not offer a porterage service, but we will ensure to help out where we can in regards to getting luggage to rooms if you do not have a car or mobility issues.. We thank you for bringing the maintenance issues you experienced concerning the broken ironing board in your room to our attention. Unfortunately maintenance issues do arise from time to time and measures are in place to ensure such issues are rectified promptly. We do thank you for taking the time to write to us and advise us of your concerns. We do take all of your comments on board and value your feedback as an integral part of our continuing aim to maximise service to our guests
