My outrigger canoe partner and I and my Weimaraner dog all went to Coffs this weekend for the national outrigger championships. This was the only place I called and booked straight away for value, friendliness, proximity to the venue, service over the phone, approach to booking, and especially the dog/pet friendly appeal.

The grounds are tropical, quiet, cool, tranquil, and the bungalows are up in the trees with great breezes and privacy. The bungalows have everything you need for cooking and eating and sleeping, and access is easy. It's definitely an "oasis" and definitely our choice when we go back to Coffs next year.

Our thanks to the managers who made our stay stress-free and comfortable.

Orchid Villa was the perfect choice for our family reunion. Three families totalling 6 adults and 7 children had an awesome stay enjoying this spacious villa. We had room to spare as this villa sleeps 17. We spent time relaxing on the large undercover deck overlooking lush playground with clean pools, spa, baby pool, and fully equipped BBQ area all conveniently close. The large workable kitchen made meal times a breeze feeding the masses! The children were kept busy with canoes on the beautiful lagoon and the games room with the beach within walkng distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful and obviously love what they are good at. We will definitely be returning to enjoy this sensational paradise again.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the "Niaroo" Villa. The setting was gorgeous with the verandah overlooking the lagoon, tropical plants and lush ferns. By night the sound of the frogs and the little waterfall under the bridge outside our villa lulled us to sleep. The villa was very private, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The enclosed verandah was huge and perfect for sitting outside without getting eaten by bugs. We hope to bring some friends next time as there was heaps of room and the verandah area would be perfect for outdoor dining on a warm evening. I thought the lagoon was amazing and catered for an amazing variety of wildlife. The gardens are breathtaking - gorgeous palms, ferns and colorful flowers. A perfect place for families to holiday - there is a great playground for little ones, a gorgeous pool area with spa and a shallow bubble pool for babies/toddlers. Next to the pool area, the outdoor undercover eating area is large and has room for several families. The BBQ's are clean and there is adequate prep and washing up space. Older kids would love it too with all the little pathways amongst the villas that they could explore and there are canoes for exploring the lagoon and its wildlife. For the nature lovers there is a variety of friendly water dragons and other lizards plus birds galore. We were amazed at where the lizards would turn up in the garden and at how tame they seem. In summary I would highly recommend Tropic Oasis to couples, singles and family groups - there is something for everyone here! The owners are friendly and very helpful and have done an amazing job with this little piece of paradise. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Niaroo Villa is fantastic for a large family or group but also private enough for a single or couple wanting some peace and quiet.

As a family of four, with two being an energetic 6 year old boy and an adventuous 3 year old girl, we found Tropic Oasis to be the best accommodation catering for a family in Coffs (and this was our fourth property to try in two years). The Hibiscus House was roomy, clean, modern with working fans, aircon, DVD players and spa. The kitchen while small, suited our needs for breakfast, as we had picnic lunches by the pools, and BBQ dinners in the fully equiped BBQ area. And yes, while there are signs in the rooms it was obviously due to previous unreasonable behaviour, and were mainly common sense (eg, empty pockets from pebbles/shells before washing clothes!). Of course, when travelling for multiple nights with a family we did bring extra supply of tea, coffee and sugar as well as the food supply for our stay (besides we enjoy earl greys and lavazza coffee and you don't expect this at hotels!)

Our children loved the pool and heated spa, as well as the playrooms, playgrounds and sandpits. The boys enjoyed their first ever canoe. The walk to the beach was great, and had the largest range of seashells much to our children's delight after main beach and river in coffs that had ample oyster shells!

The best part of all, was the excellent customer service, who were friendly, courteous and understanding of our squealing children in their pools!!
